Question about Proview XL370B (Black) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Open Question

I have a 2004 XL370b model Xerox monitor, just for home use. The audio cable does not seem to be working, I would like to know if it is replaceable. The screen functions fine, I'm very happy with it, I just have no sound.

How do i get the sound to work on my HPw2207 monitor? Are there built in speakers?

HP w2207 has built-in speakers (Integrated rear facing). All you have to do is connect the LCD and PC (Sound output) using Audio Cable (Stereo).

Common failures in LCD monitors are due to bad caps as hown in my albums.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Try turning it around. If it still doesn't fit, you may need a DVI to VGA adapter.

I have a xerox XG-91D and when i power it up there is no picture and the green light flashes. how do i fix this?

This is most likely the power inverter board in the monitor - this is common in many monitors. If it started taking longer and longer to display an image, and the power light is blinking on-and-off, that's the problem. You can confirm that it's the monitor and not your computer or the cable by plugging in another monitor if you have one to try.

If it's under warranty, send it back, if not, there are inverter boards for many common models of LCD monitors that are replaceable. The board can run anywhere from $50 on up. Depending on how old it is, you may find it better to just replace it with a gently used one from ebay.

Broken powerboard for Xerox XM3-19W monitor

Well you might be able to find one in a scrap monitor on an auction site, or put in the model number on google. Im always after parts for monitors and it gets annoying when you cannot find any lol.

always try with another monitor, before do nothing else. this reveal if the problem is the monitor. could be a cable problem( cutted inside),could be a backlight problem (it have a flourescent tube and a inverter that makes it "shine" ,or a supply problem what means it don't even work.these tree case are for the repairman.

Faulty monitor

This is most probably cause by one or more Faulty Electrolytic Capacitors, I find these are the MOST commonest form of "Fault" in these LCD's TFT's units. I ususally simply replace "On Spec" all High Value Electros, in fact ALL Electro's are suspect and often I just "Shotgun" and replace 'em all. Usually fixes all problems. Always use High Temperature Caps.
