    What model Dell?
Mostly, what was the problem before you took it to Best Buy?
What tests did Best Buy do?
What were the results of those tests, if they told you?
It may not be feasible to replace the motherboard compared to upgrading the CPU, once the age of your CPU and the complete cost of upgrading the Motherboard are fully considered. So let us know what you have.

Janice, the cost of a mother board can vary starting at around $75 up to as much as $300. Dell tends to be proprietary with regard to the hardware installed in their machines. Regardless of that, when replacing your motherboard you have to make sure it is compatible to the CPU, RAM, and other hardware installed in your machine. If you like the dell and have had good service from it, have them give you an estimate on cost of repair. You may find that you can buy a newer machine that is faster and more capable for less money. One thing you need to know is that regardless of brand, they all use the same parts to put a home computer together and those parts are produced by one of two (maybe 3) companies depending on which component is being discussed.

On all but their newer XPS line Dell uses Dell specific motherboards. The only way to get one is to contact Dell and see what they will charge you for one. You can find all the info at www.dell.com
Hope this helps.

M2amx motherboard

The only issue you have is locating a new motherboard and making sure it works with the 5200 processor. There are literally 100's of motherboards that will do just that. INTEL, ASUS and even AMD make some to name a few manufacturers. Your best best is to look on their sites and locate the motherboard you like that meets your needs then look on dealer sites to locate the best price and have it shipped. Best buy, Office max, Tiger Direct are just a few of the stores that will ship the product and most have on-line live chat options so you can be sure. Make sure you match the RAM capability and Hard Drive connections to the products you currently have. For instance, if your current system uses DDR ram make sure the new board does as well.

New motherboard

Sad news is, trying to find a celeron motherboard.
It's best if you purchase a new computer altogether.
If you go and replace the motherboard, then you need a new pcu, power supply, Ram, reinstall Windows..you get the picture.
Best to save up and buy a new computer.

256 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 for Inspiron 9400/E1705 Card Failu

Both solutions are wrong. The Dell Inspiron 9400/1705 is a laptop. If you buy a Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 for this laptop, you need to buy a Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705 motherboard for a discrete video card. The integrated video is a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. The integrated video has the video chipset on the motherboard and the discrete video (GeForce Go 7800) has the video chipset on the video card.

My Insignia NS-27lcd tv won't power on

Could be a dead backlight or inverter board. I would try the power supply as it isn't that expensive. I would buy the power supply from whoever has the best return policy. Best Buy might take it back with no questions asked. This way, if it is not the power supply, you can return it.

D600 latitude motherboard

I recommend Ebay. You can get a good used motherboard for around $100, just make sure that the motherboard is guaranteed to work, so your protected if it doesn't. I've gotten many used boards off Ebay, and had no problems. Used or refurbished is just fine, there's really no sense in paying the $400 for a new one. If the $150 refurbished has at least one year warranty or better, that would be the route to go. Here's a link to Ebay's listing for the D600 motherboards. If you need assistance in changing out the board let me know.

Fix graphics card on Dell Dimension E510

something on the motherboard may be damaged, if you replaced a power supply the motherboard really needs to be checked to see if there is any damaged components on it. my best guess is there are damaged components on it and you may need a new motherboard as well
