Dont jump start any atv with any lawn mower or car, there is a circut board that controls spark, gas everthing. if you need to jump start atv you can do this with your mower but only with it shut off. the oroblem with this is that you could burn out the stater plate in the atv. look at bike bandit for your bike, size motor and all parts.

I have a B & S Mod. # 303447-1042-E1 that won't turn over with the electric ignition switch.

A bad Starter Solenoid (Heavy Duty Relay). You can locate it by following the cable on the starter to it. It also should have a cable going from the battery to it, and a small wire from the ignition switch which activates it. Its purpose is to act as a high current switch between the battery and the starter.

Battery cables get hot

The cables typically get hot from too much current. If the starter motor is frozen and can not turn you get high current. This could be in the starter, but also if the engine itself is frozen. Push on the cooling fan blades to see if the engine still moves. Remove the starter motor to check it.

Briggs and stratton model 29000 starter problems

Try turning your engine by hand counter clockwise to see if it isn't under cylinder pressure..if it turns try to start...if still nothing and your battery is good you most likely have a bad solenoid..it connects the power from the battery to the starter..follow your heavy wire usually red from the positive side of your battery and from the starter..you will find it at their ends connected to two large post..it has small wires attached...that is the solenoid.. a quick way to see if it is bad is to put the switch on the run position then take a screw driver and cross it on both post,, making a direct connection bypassing the coil,,,It should crank and start your engine..if it does you need a new coil...easy job depending where yours is located..normally just below the ignition switch..under the hood or dash board..good luck..

Ihave a vanguard 20 hp v twin on my snapper mower you turn the key and get like a kluk sounds like its coming from starter

Does it do it every time? First try and turn your engine by hand counter clockwise and try to start..sometimes the engine stops on a compression stroke and Is Under too much pressure for the initial start,..happened to my cub cadet laast week...,,if it turns and still gets a click...test or charge your battery..if it is ok you either have a bad solenoid or starter...first find the solenoid and croosing the two big post..it should spin the engine..if it spins it is your solenoid if not the starter is bad...not a hard job for either...both can be purchased at your local mower place...giid luck

hook the black lead to the caseing and tuch the red lead on the starter battery stud,,,it should spin up and strow the bendix out as soon as you take the lead off the bendix should slid back in if it dont oil it till dose also check the starter relay it could be sticking on holding the starter in

Hi! I have a delta dust collector model 50-850 and electric motor has like this little starter or i dont know what you call it, that started to throw smoke out of it, i had used it since but i need to find...

Look for the part here. From your description of the problem it might be item 21 (switch box) or item 26 (capacitor). If it is the switch box there may be additional part numbers to be ordered.

My Briggs Vangard 18hp twin V has problems starting. I replaced the starter solinoid but it is still a no go. I can jump the solinoid and get the starter to spin but no fire to the plugs, Any ideas?

This is most likely being caused by one of the safety switches cutting off current flow to the solenoid. turn the key on and jump the solenoid and see if you get spark to the plugs. If so you have a safety switch issue...one is under the seat, one is on the clutch pedal, one is on the reverse position and one is on the blade engagement lever. hope this helps you

Atv wont start when electric start button is pushed

Iguess she hosed the machine down ,water may have tracked and drained the battery ,and what you are hearing is the solenoid clicking....try another battery or jumper leads off the car you may be surprised .WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT,I SAID DONT.,RUN THE ENGINE WITH OUT THE BATTERY HOOKED OR YOU WILL BURN THE RECTIFIER OUT!!! AND IT WILL BE UNABLE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY, if the new battery doesn`t do the trick , you are going to haveto follow the clicking by ear until you find where the clicks are coming from let me know PLEASE I also can learn from your experience
