Question about Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer

1 Answer

Strange situation that I am getting annoyed with. Here's what the deal is: I have a Wireless MS Intellimouse Explorer which actually works fine but, the intellipoint software (nor device manager) does not see it as a MS mouse. All device manager shows under Mice is "HID-compliant mouse"; under Human Interface Devices it shows "HID Non-user Input Filter" and "USB Human Interface Device". That's it. Now, when I open Intellipoint it says "Some mouse settings might not work until you connect a Microsoft mouse to a USB port on your computer or set up a Microsoft mouse that uses Bluetooth Technology". And, finally, I can't change any of the button configs. Can anyone shed light on this annoyance? Thanks!...

Sounds like you need to update your mouse's driver, you will find the intellimouse 6.3 driver for Windows XP at the link below "IntelliPoint 6.3 32-bit for Windows XP".

MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 scroll wheel only scrolls down

There are number of reasons and solutions why your mouse isn't working properly. No.1. Resynchronize your mouse to the Pc. It's best to use the reset button for resynchronization. No. 2. Change the Port (Usb port). Sometimes even the small problem with the port created this problem. No.3. Replace the battery. If you are sure about the battery is Live, you can try with another make eg. Sony to Everydy. No.4. Interfaces Problem. Make sure that no electronic items, metal box, Speaker, etc doesn't obstruct the connection. No.5. Driver Update. Update the driver to the latest version. You must update from the particular website. If you are using Microsoft product, you must update the driver from the Microsoft's website. No.6. Different System. Try out the device on several devices not only one. If you still have difficulty, you can visit this site for more details. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838398 Good luck

Go into the control panel and click on the mouse icon and see if you can change to settings back to normal.

If not then check under your start menu and see if the intellimouse software is installed there and go into it to change the settings from there.

Couldn't find the answer to the right click mouse button not working.

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
