Not good news, I'm afraid. There's probably nothing you can do, other than take it to a repairer. If this is the model I think it is, there's a plastic linkage beneath the knob and this can break. Replacing it is a nightmare and, unless you are a very confident handy-person, I would advise against trying to do the job yourself. This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps.

Dyson dc25 vaccuum will not lie flat to go under low furniture.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC25's cleaner head is engineered with a low profile to clean under the edges of low furniture. However for cleaning under very low furniture we'd recommend using the onboard hose, wand and tools as the vacuum itself is not engineered to lie flat to the floor.

If you'd like some advice from our experts on getting the best out of your machine, please give us a call directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson DC28 - when using this in "carpet mode", I can hear and feel tons of suction being pulled through the wand, even though the wand is properly stowed as the handle for "carpet mode". And when this...

There's no switch per sey, but there is a clutch activation knob, on the right side of the base, as you're standing behind the unit. There should be a Carpet or Hard floor setting, just two. Twist it to change from one to the other. However, all this is meant to do, as far as I know, is to turn on the brush roll or turn it off, by means of a clutch system. I don't think it has anything to do with the wand assembly.

Debris is not going in to the canister and the wand is constantly suctioning even when not in use

It sounds like The undercarrage assembly needs replacing on your machine..

If you stand behine the machine and look at the undercarrage you will see a small arm on the extream left hand side that extends from the same part that holds the back wheels.
On the end of this arm thier should be a small knob that turns the internal valve from hose to floor suction. if it is broken it won\'t change over and will either suck only thru the wand or the brush bar depending on when it broke

Bellow are two pics the one of a new undercarrage assembly ( top one)Screw driver pointing knob out

My steam vac is not cleaning the only place their is suction is through the uphostery hose, can't find my book or a switch to change from upholstery to the fllor suction. Any ideas?

You need to remove the suction hose from the front nozzle in order. There is no switch to change suction control. when the hose is removed, make sure the dorr cover is closed.

I am also having the same problem - it will not dispense the cleaning fluid - it is more work trying to get the thing to work than it is actually cleaning the floor.

I just took the dispenser out and splashed the mixed water and cleaning solution on the floor, it works well, but I'd rather use a good spray bottle on my next floor cause the splashed can cause spots, unless the floor is already wet. In addition this floor mate is slow if compared to a spray bottle and a sponge on your bottom foot, moping and sliding your foot over stains, and mopping up till clean and streak free. Furthermore, I used Murpys oil instead, its works good Im happy, and tired this job requires constant cleaning and rinsing of your mop bucket, with a one man team, alot of furniture and a piano its alot of work, but worth it at the end, later, going for starbucks for that pick me up.

No Spray from Bissell 7920 ProHeat Pro-Tech s/n 01222111

When you put the cover back on, was the piston on the bottom of the smart mix knob? If it was, did you have the smart mix knob in the water only setting? Sometimes the flow indicator cap may be on too tight, loosen it while it is running until fluid starts to leak out, then tighten it until it starts spinning. On the bottom of the tanks, are the seals on the tank and not sitting the the hole. You may have pinched a line when you put the top cover back on. May still have junk in the lines somewhere, try running a mix of vineager and water (not on the carpet), that mix may clean it out.

Most likely the diverter valve is broken part #2136988. You will have to remove the top to replace it.
