Question about Whirlpool GHW9100L Front Load Washer

1 Answer

I have an old whirlpool front loading washer. I set it going but it stopped half way through full of water and never restarted. I didn't see the water and opened the door and it flowed out. I shut the door and turned it to spin which it did, but now I can't open the door as it is locked. Have I screwed up the logical progression of the program. Will turning if off at the power point reset anything?

By removing the lolwer acess panel you'll find a techsheet/ troubleshoooter along the right side wall. you can reach your arm up along the front iside panel to find a "manual release" for the latch mechanism. its a small quater sized pull located on the lowest part of the latch assembly, just be aware of waterlevel inside machine beofer opening door

Whirlpool Washer model # LSN1000KQ0 overfilling

did you plug the hose back into the water level switch, double check to see if it is plugged, if it is your water level switch might be defective. trouble shoot by taking the front panel off... turn on the washer by using the timer, set water level to small...on the bottom of the tub housing there should be a nipple where the clear hose connects onto.....follow the clear hose from the switch down to the bottom of the tub.........disconnect the clear hose on the bottom of the tub.....plugg the nipple with your finger.........gently blow into the hose with your mouth.......but make sure the water level in the tub is at least at half way full...and the washer is on and filling up with water ...after you blow into the hose the washer should agitate.......if it does agitate your water level switch is defective...connect hose back........get your model number and source for the switch.........

About 1-2 times a month, my front loading washer fills up with water (sometimes a little and sometimes about half full) without being turned on ... any ideas?

Leaking water inlet valve. Turn hot water valve off one night n see wether any water in drum in morning. Then try turning cold valve off at hose as well to see which one is letting the water in. Either way its only a $5 dollar bit thats passing water

ERROR CODE?

The SUD error code means that there could be a couple of problems. It could be a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

Kenmore 80 Series - water wont fill to full load

remove edge decore trims from left and right side front of control panel8b608f8.jpg
remove phillips screws from bottom corners of contol panel
remove knob from water level selector
raise control panel ~1 inch then flip over backwords on pivots
depress lock tab on right/underside of water level control body where it touches metal mount plate
rotate water level control body 45deg anti clockwise
pull body off
top side of body next to knob shaft is 1/8 hex head bolt
turn clockwise to rais water level
anticlockwise to lower water level
machine can be operated with this part not fitted so can check level. fill, adjust screw, fill will start again, adjust screw, until water level is correct
reinstall in reverse order
Incidentally, the cause is a VERY small wire spring inside the control body that is not really up to the task, and stretches over years.
Its a common occurrence, and I make this repair, on callouts, no parts required, couple times a month you may have to flip the switch to reset to get the water to restart filling
