SOURCE: I have a Waring food processor model FP51071 motor will not go on

since I did not get a response from fix it and could not find a local repair store from fix it I called Waring the manufacturer and was told the motor will not work as a safety precauition until the top is locked in once I did that it worked fine.
If you had responded to me in anyway except to sign up and pay for your service I would have signed up now I am just annoyed .

SOURCE: I bought this food processor brand new and used it

Make sure that the cup is inserted properly and that it activates the switch...
Also make sure there is no debris in there that could block it from going in the whole way... it is very sensitive...
If that is not the problem, then return the unit... it has at least a 1 year warranty on it from the manufacturer..

You must contact the manufacturer of the product to obtain any parts if they are even made, which I doubt. But give it a try.

Fuse?I bought this processor here in Saudi Arabia, unpacked it and put it in my cabinets. A couple months later I went to use it and the damn thing doesn't turn on. I think maybe the 13 amp fuse in the...

Hopefully you have or know someone who has an ohmmeter or a multimeter. You can check the fuse by measuring the resistance of the fuse. It should be zero or close to it. If it reads high, in the kilo or meg ohms, then it is open or bad. I checked Wikopedia for the Saudi Arabia's
voltage source, and it lists 120v 60cycle and 220v 60 cycle. If the food processor is a 220v 60 cycle piece of equipment, it may not appear to work on our (the USA) 120v 60 cycle power.

Can you slice almonds on the cuisinart dfp 3 if so how?

It is very difficult, but the machine is capable of it. Use the chopping/mixing blade (S-shaped blade). You would place a small amount - about a small handful - in the workbowl, and pulse the almonds only for about 2 seconds. Even if you want to eventually chop a large quantity, only do about a small handful at a time. It is so difficult, because the almonds will be completely pulverized if you leave it on for even 3-4 seconds. Many people who try chopping almonds, nuts, etc in a food processor discontinue the practice b/c it is so easy to overchop them into dust.

Wrong card

If you were given the wrong registration card, go to Moulinex's website and get the right contact phone number - they can either register you over the phone or send you a registration card. Having worked in consumer electronics, I can tell you that the registration is practically worthless - save your receipt instead. The serial number will carry for a part of the warranty period, and after that period they will require a receipt even if you have registered. But the website for finding the contact info is here:

Appears to be locked but won't turn on

ah! well my mother just tried using her DLC-10S 7 cup food processor and she also encountered the same problem. It worked perfectly fine when she first used it around Christmas time but not anymore.

After almost smacking the hell out of it we discovered that there is a plastic tab on the lid towards the handle side. This plastic tab actually pushes a lever through the cup and into the base of the food processor.

New Bee actually mentions this above. The problem is that the flimsy plastic tab in the handle isn't stiff enough to push the lever down anymore. I'm amazed it worked the first time.

This is very much a design flaw by Cuisinart as there's no way this plastic tab would ever last.

Now there is a small opening in the case right above the plastic tab. To get our food processor going we just pushed a chopstick down on the tab and held it in place while the food processor runs.

This is very much a temporary solution until we get a new food processor, obviously a different model.
