Hello, I Have a Compaq EVO N610C that has a Faint Screen. I Can Always see the BIOS Splash Screen, But after the splash screen it often immediately goes dim or it will sometimes load into windows for 5 minutes then go dim. When installing Vista on it, it went Dim during the Installation. I Dont think this is a Software problem. Please Help!

Tip: The max point reward for answering a question is 15.
Disconnect the power cable from the Notebook and then remove the Battery pack. While the Battery pack is removed, press and hold the power button on the Notebook for 15 seconds.
Next, reinsert the Battery pack and connect the power cord to the Notebook and turn it ON. While the Computer is booting, you can view the information on the bottom of the screen to get to the Setup Screen.
On the Setup screen, use the right arrow key to highlight the "Exit" menu, then select the option "load/get default" and press the Enter key followed by F10 keypress to reset the BIOS and save and exit the screen.
Try this: -
Remove your Laptop Li-ion battery module. Then remove the RTC battery for at least 15min. Replace RTC, and boot the computer ONLY with the AC-Adapter. Enter the BIOS and set to boot from USB
