Have you tried either switching between external and internal monitor usally Fn + F5 on toshiba or try plugging a monitor into the back and see if it displays.
if you get a display on the external monitor then its probably a screen or inverter fault if you donot get a display to an external screen then it is likley t be the graphics on the board itself.
hope this helps

Why Toshiba Satellite A665 Laptop won't start?

Have you tried pressing space bar (maybe its in hibernation mode) ?

or try holding power button for a few seconds (10) then turn it back on.

as a last resort you could try take the battery out, disconnect it from the power adapter, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then place the battery back in and the power adapter and try powering it on?

I got a new Toshiba satellite L300 notebook and turned it on today. But there's a starting up beep but the screen remained black. even when i connected the laptop to another screen, the screen still...

Take it to the purchasing party and get a refund or a repair if you just bought it. If it has a warranty by all means get it back to get it repaired. If you bought it from a private party always turn it on before you take it to see if it works first. Also you may want to try restarting and waiting a bit to pick up the screen sometimes they are really slow starters depending on what is has loading at the startup. I feel for you friend. John

Toshiba L300 screen flickers and backlight

Maybe is the backlight power cable cut. Try with the laptop in power on mode oppening VERY SLOWLY the screen to see if at a certain potition it works fine. Open it all the way up sometimes to check it. If thre is a potition that it works, it's the cable as I mentioned.

Tohiba l300 completely blank screen

If the screen is always blank, even on startup , before loading Windows, than this is probably an hardware fault.

Try unplugging the laptop and removing the battery at the same time, wait 5 minutes, then put the laptop together. This will drain power and reset the laptop.

If that does not work, and you get no pictuer under any circumstance , then there is a fault.

If the screen is black with no light , then it is either a faulty inverter or a problem on mainboard.

If the screen is all lit, but is blank with no signal, then it is often because of a bad LCD ribbon cable , but can be again the video chipset on the motherboard.

Try connecting to an external monitor, if it works then problem is restricted to LCD/inverter and ribbon cable, if it does not work on external monitor is usually a bad video chipset on motherboard.
