Question about Sony VAIO® VGN-N350E/W PC Notebook

Sony Vaio VGN-N350E question

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N350E notebook. However, I cannot find for the life of me whether it's a 350E/B, 350E/T or 350E/W model. The Sony website, even after ''inspecting'' my machine, only tells me what I know... that it's a 350E - it's not model specific.

I've Googled this question, and can't seem to find an answer. Figured I'd ask in FixYa land to see if anyone knows.

FYI, I can't determine by factory specs, as the laptop was upgraded by the original seller.

Thanks in advance :)

Normally this should be specified on the service tag at the bottom of the laptop, if the service tag had been removed it may be difficult to identify the exact model.

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Won't power on. If I hold down the power button 2 lights on the front of the unit flash but it won't turn on.

This could be a power adapter problem. The best way to test this is with a multimeter, you can go to walmart, lowes, home depot, and pickup a cheap one. Insert the red into the center of the adapter end, and the black to the outside, or a ground. Should get anywhere from 16 to 21 volts.

You could also try pulling your CMOS batter, and trying to start it, then reinserting the battery if it comes up.

Sony laptop just turned off, it won't turn on. It was not hot.

The problem is your power supply charger, or the DC jack in the laptop, or bad battery. Remove the main battery and see if it will start up, if yes! the battery will need to be replaced, If no! plug charger in the computer and apply side-way pressure on the DC jack "not to hard" and press power repeatedly to see if you can start it, If yes! It is the DC jack that has broken free from the motherboard, If no! It is the power supply or motherboard. I suggest a computer tech

Is the sony vaio vgn-nr120e a 64-bit?

Hi, the processor of the this model Vaio is Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2310. This is a 64bit processor which means that it should support a 64 bit operating system. Whether it will come with a 64 bit operating sysem, depends on your order.
Here are two links with the processor specifications and the Vaio specifications:

If you already have one, you can check if it is a 32bit or 64 bit by clicking on: Start/right click Computer and select properties.
