We have a Smeg ST 663 dishwasher that does work. However, sometimes when you want to use it and turn the power button on it beeps twice with the red light flashing and you can't get it to work or change the settings. Sometimes if we leave it for a while and try it again later it will work, but it is annoying as sometimes it won't want to work for ages and we really want our dishes cleaned!
Would be great to know if anyone else has this problem, and if anyone knows how to solve it. The dishwasher doesn't have many buttons on it (power button, cycle selection button and 1/2 load button) so it makes it hard to figure out. Any help would be much appreciated!!

There is a screen filter at the bottom of most dish washers, if the screen gets dirty it probly won't drain properly. Check the screen and clean if neccesary. If not that, then pump may be getting weak.
model numbers for dishwashers are generally where you can get to from the front, if they are noit on the front panel then look inside the door rim where the rubber seal is, either a small sticker on the door rim itself (inside) or where the door fits on the main cabinet, open the door fully to look for this sticker, sometimes placed under the front of the lid
