I cannot turn on my AV 2260 EY1. Nothing happens.

I cannot turn on my AV 2260 EY1. Nothing happens. I have the power pluggd into the wall socket, but the laptop won't respond. We used to operate it without the battery and plugged into the wall. We did that for months without a problem. Now, with or without the battery in, I cannot get it to start.

More than likely the power supply has gone bad. If you or a friend has a Volt meter you could test to see if electricity is getting from the wall to end of the cord (USE CAUTION TO NOT ZAP YOURSELF). In general the first thing to stop working on a laptop is the battery, and the second the power supply cord. That is my guess. How do you fix the power supply cord... buy a new one. I tried to fix one once, ended up all bad.

SOURCE: my laptop's battery cannot charge

Hi,
Check your battery if it is not dead, remove the battery and find a soft button near to a level indicator... pressing it will check if it lights less than one-half or none at all then the battery is dead... In that case, you need to change it with a new one.

Hope this Fixya the problem...

SOURCE: battery problem...

Sounds like an hardware problem. The battery charger does not depend from the operative system, and is working even when the computer is turned off and connected to power socket. Leave your laptop off and connected to power overnight. If the battery charge is still zero then you probably need to get a new or tested-second-hand battery.

hope this helps

Screen was all fuzzy and red ring was at bottom right side!

from the description you stated it sounds like the following error code

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.

  1. Try restarting the console.
  2. If restarting the console does not resolve the behavior, follow these steps:
    • Turn the console off.
    • Unplug all the power and AV cables from the console.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
    • Firmly reconnect all the cables.
    • Turn on the console.
  3. Also examine the lights on the power supply. When you turn on the console, the power supply light should illuminate green
try that and if nothing works I have more to follow.

Power failure

by plugging it directly into the wall... what was it plugged into before. and have you actually taken some other electrical device and plugged it in to make sure the wall socket is still live.
there is also a reset button on most power strips... it may have tripped.

Try those and let us know.
