Galaxy saturn turbo radio stop recieving

it could be anyone of a hundred things. check the meter on front to see if it is receiving anything.check the final to see if its getting hot.check all the integrated circuits to make sure they are working and most important is to turn up squelch to the left and rf gain to the right. If everything checks out and its still not working take it to a tech and let him fix it.

The receive is weak on my galaxy 2517 how do i turn it up?

If these are stations that you have to before and had no problem hearing them then you are correct to say your receive is low. There are adjustments that can be made you check for low receive but you need the manual for the radio. If you go to www.cbtricks.com and look for the radio they also have the service manual.

RCI 2995DX Had it peaked tuned and realigned plus modulation upgrade done. Some times people say I am over driving and I sound splattered and other times people say its perfect. What could cause this?

People have different idea's of what sounds good. Some people thing that loud and over modulated sounds good, Also, distance has something to do with it too. Some one close is going to hear it more if you are over modulated, where as too some one far away it may not sound over modulated because of the distance.

Also, if some one is really close, then you will sound over modulated, even when you don't. It is not due to over modulation. It is because you are over loading their receive section of the radio because you are close.

You need to have some one you know, and trust as a good judge of audio and do some checks with them. If some one says you sound over modulated, and splattering, you probably are if they are not really close to you. Back it down until they say it has stopped.

I have a Galaxy DX 929 that seems to have really weak receive compared to my Cobra 29 LTD on the same antenna setup on the same vehicle. Squelch and RF gain fully open. The receive S - meter does move on...

Some possible issues may be a miss aligned receive section or a possible bad component in the receive section.

From my experience, Galaxy radio's have a much quieter receive, as were the cobra 29 seems to be a bit more loud, with more background noise.

The cobra 29 still has one of the best receives out there. There may be louder static, but it picks up amazingly.

If this radio had a clarifier it would be easy to tell if the receive was off. You could just tune it as you are receiving, and if it got better as you tuned it off center you would know. Otherwise you would have to open the radio, and adjust the receive by ear, which is something where you may do more harm then good.

The proper way to align the radio requires the use of a watt meter and volt meter, which are easy to come by, but as well you will need an oscilloscope, which is a more expensive piece of equipment to own.

If the unit is new, then it's under warranty. Contact galaxy, see what they say. Their tech support is pretty good.

But ALL in ALL,

If the unit seems to be receiving on freq, (no muffled or distorted receive) and it is working well besides having a less sensitive receive, then I would say it's just that radio.

I have a galaxy base radio, and it has a real clean quiet receive, but my cobra 29's seem to have a more sensitive receive, but I like that galaxy because there is less noise.

How do u turn up a galaxy dx55v.

Hi, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. Take off the cover, with the circuit side down, take a plastic tuning tool, you can get one at your local electronics store. turn your channel select to midway of the band. make sure your modulation is turned off. Key your mic and tune VR13 to the Maximum on the watt meter. this is for the power. Next, locate VR14 turn the modulation up, and say ahhhhhhhhh, repeat if needed. Thanks for choosing FixYa....John
