That sounds like a volume control IC that has become heat sensitive. In other words when it's cold it's normal and then when it's been on for a while it warms up and develops the fault. You can search for the faulty part by spraying it with Radio Freezer Spray. Do one part at a time. Wait for it to play up and blast it! If it goes back to normal you have found the faulty part.
I never thought about the freeze spray.. I was going to a complete pot replacement to see if that fixed the issue, but I like the spray idea. Thanks! Will report what I find.
Blasted a can on the components, solder joints, and my finger (to make sure it was working..it was...) and got absolutely no where. Decided to swap master pot for a channel rarely used. Upon doing so I noticed a few cold solder joints, embarrassed to say I missed them, and touched them up. Hour and a half in and problem seems to be fixed! Thank you for your response, gave me inspiration to keep digging.

SOURCE: One channel muted until the volume is turned up
This problem is usually dur to some corrosion in the speaker relay. If the relay can be opened, burnish the contacts and you should be OK. The higher volume creates a higher voltage that can "jump the gap" so to speak. Once the connection is made it will remain. That is why lowering the volume will work.
