Question about Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends for DS
Hi we have nintendogs in other series and have no problem. We just brought lab and friends and each time we start with a new puppy after 10 minutes the puppy has forgotten its name, we are constantly calling its name and doing everything it says but it keeps saying you need to rename it. 2 other friends also brought the same game from the same batch at Big w australia and are having the same problem.
One friend said hers did that continously then told her the dog has died. I didnt know a dog could die on nintendogs ? Any advice ?? I have been through 2 Nintendogs games (Dalmation and Lab) and we taught it to sit but then we couldn't progress further now it only knows its name. It's famished, parched and filthy but we can't remedy the problem from the "just keep saying it's name" stage! We have dachshund and friends and we have taught the dog it's name and then taught it how to sit but it then asks us to call its name and when it comes tell it to sit. We call and call and call its name and it does not come and definately does not sit. We can't get any further through the game to give it a wash. (it has fleas!!!!!!) My other two kids have nintendogs games and even though it did take a while to get through the first stages, it was never this long.
Try keeping your voice the same tone. Or you can reset the entire game by pressing ABXYLR while on the "Nintendo" screen. If the problem continues, try checking your microphone for any foreign material.

SOURCE: HELP: MENUS
I think you should take this game back and tell them exactly what has happened. If they have a look and it isn't a game, it might have something to do with your nintendo ds

I have the same problem, but only not as bad. If the dog keeps doing it and then dying, then it is not a propor game, the dogs don't die they run away. And i have the same game and it just won't remember its name, i have Re-named it 3 times and it just wont work, it's name is 'Lucky' but it just wont work and the 'Well, did Lucky respond...' thingy keeps comein up... PLZ HELP!!!
