I recently had the same problem. I actually took the two hoses off of
the pump and found a penny in their. It was actually difficult, I
couldn't figure out an easy way to get the water out first and had
quite a mess. But now the washer works again. You'd have to get all the water out then flip it over, remove the bottom , theirs two clips holding together the pump mechanism, unlatch those, dissconnect the two hoses and look in and shake to see if something is jamming it.

An LD code n a Kenmore machine means Long Drain. Check the water inlet hoses for kinks or clogs. check the filter for coins or other junks. Make sure the drain hose isn't blocked, restricted or kinked.
"LD" stands for "long drain," meaning it took an excessively long time
for water to drain out of the washer. Common causes for this are kinked
drain hose or clothing, like panties or socks, caught in the pump
suction hose. Why, I've even heard of bra wires coming loose and getting stuck
in that hose, collecting all sorts of gookus and pinching off the flow
of water to the pump. Can you imagine? Yea verily, as surely as the
Sacred Suds doth eternally pass my lips, the "LD" error code springs
forth from such anomalies.
Check for kinked or clogged Drain Hose: Remove any obstructions in the drain hose / stand pipe / utility sink. Straighten the hose to remove any kinks. If the washer is unable to drain due to a kinked or restricted drain hose, the washer may not spin.
Check for Standpipe higher than 8 feet above the floor:The pump is not powerful enough to pump water to heights greater than 8ft. The water will remain in the basket.
Check for excessive suds in the washer: Drain pumps cannot drain suds out of the washer.
To clear the suds condition: Check the drain hose and make sure the hose is not plugged or kinked Press pause/cancel twice to clear the display Run the machine through a Rinse/Spin cycle using cold water, then a Normal cycle using cold water.
Note: Do NOT add any additional detergent. This will remove much of the remaining detergent held in the fabric. This step may have to be repeated to remove all the detergent.
Here is what the manufacture says about LD -- my comments will follow
Long Drain Ld flashes when the water level does not change after the drain pump is on. ô Is the drain hose or the drain pump clogged? ô Is the drain hose height greater than 96"? ô Is the pressure hose connection from the tub to the machine/motor control pinched, kinked, plugged or leaking air?
Phil's comments ---->
Almost always this code is due to a plugged drain pump or hose, it is especially common when washing a rug with a rubber backing that comes off or small articles like baby socks that get caught in the drain system of the machine. Depending on how adventurous you feel in taking this unit apart is your call, but due to the complexity of it I would recommend calling a service expert.
You may have an obstruction in your pump which causes it to drain slower than usual, or binds the impeller. Flow can still be pretty good even with this problem but the brain will sense a longer than normal drain time and flag the error. Try removing the water pump and look for underwires, paper clips or hairpins.
Hello there LD means a long drain it is taking longer than 8 minutes to drain out the tub please check the following First unplug the machine to prevent electrical shock· Check wiring harness to ensure they are all connected and are not fried
·If needed remove the side panel and Check the hoses going to pump for clogs and all drain hoses and drainage system
· Check circuit board that controls the pump to see if any wires are burnt or have failed once the faulty part or the clog has been cleared simply plug in the machine and press the cancel button and resume your normal washing operation Hope this has been very helpful for you Best regards Michael
"LD" flashes implies the drain hose is kinked or clogged. Check the line as well as the line it feeds into for a clog and make sure it is free to drain then if OK, Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. Hope this helps...
