DELETED REGISTRY FILES, SOME PROGRAMS STOPPED WORKING!PLEASE HELP

Hello,
I somehow lost registry files, most of my programs still work, however, some don't and of course "Restore to an earlier point" is one of the programs that doesn't. Should I use a recovery disk (Windows XP) to recover lost registry files or is there another way? I also never received a recovery disk from Toshiba, everything was pre-installed.I called Toshiba and explained my situation, they said I should have received the disk when I purchased my laptop, however,I explained I didn't and they said they would send it to me free of charge. Please help me out if you can.
Thank you

Cannot execute egis update application due to some files are missing or deketed

Some viruses can do this but likely it is a registry error or the files actually have been deleted somehow. If you can reinstall the program it will replace the file, or try using a registry cleaner such as "Advanced System Care" which can be downloaded free from "Download.com." And of course, run a virus check.

I want to clear the registry files for HP QC 9.2 Please let me know the names of the registry files that i need to delete , there r so many files , m really confused Shall i delete all the keys...

Do not clear any registry files at all especially if you are asking which ones to delete. You will not be a happy camper doing this. More than likely you will have to re-install your operating system again if you do. I use a software program called ccleaner which clean the registry for you. It is free software you can retrieve it here. Never delete files you are not sure what your deleting there are several good programs that will do that for you automatically. I hope this assisted you. I have yahoo messenger but for some reason the other party has cam but i dont have the option for invitation or see them.

the first thing to do is to uninstall your yahoo messenger, and the delete its folder and files in the c:\program files\...... and the next step is to edit the registry by typing on regedit on the start->run. Once you are in the registry editor menu, select the edit->find and then type the yahoo messenger and press ok. after the registry editor stops searching the files, you can delete the messenger contents by highlighting it and then pressing the delete key fron your keyboard.

please take note: registry editor is very complicated. make sure to delete only the yahoo messenger file.

After doing all of those things, you can re-install your yahoo messenger.
hope this could help you.

My compaq mini 110 was infected with THINK POINT VIRUS. i downloaded a malware scanning program which seemingly worked for about a day...with an abundance of pop ups and self restarts. as i researched...

Hello
The re-installation of windows is however recommended, but you can try with follwing procedure to remove Think point Virus:-
1. Restart your computer in SafeMode - After Power-On the computer, just before Windows start, press F8 - From the selections, Select SafeMode
2. End ThinkPoint Process - Press Ctrl+Alt+Del from the keyboard to open Task Manager - Go to process Tab - Select 'hotfix.exe' and click on End Process - Close Task Manager
3. Remove Registry entries that the threat added. You MUST BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST. - Click Start > Run - Type in the field, regedit - Navigate and look for the registry entries mentioned above and delete if necessary
4. Delete malicious files that the threat added: - Base on the given location above, browse and delete the file - If no location is given, click Start>Search> and search for the files. - If cannot be deleted, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to access Task Manager, see if the file is running in the process. If it is, select the file and click End Process. Perform file delete again.
5. Scan computer with Antivirus Program - Update antivirus program - Scan computer and delete all detected threats.
Hope it will helps, if so do rate the solution
Good Luck

Dreamweaver CS4 will not install

right click taskbar, click task manager...under process tab look for Updater.exe, click it to highlight it, then at the bottom is a button to 'end task' click it. the program should terminate. if it pops back up then it could be a virus or malware. if that is the case...run malwarebytes anti malware scanner...its free and works very well. or you can search for it and manually delete the offending file....also run ccleaner..its another free software...could be that you just need to have the registry cleaned of old registry settings of programs uninstalled long ago.. let us know how you go on that.

Delete from add delete at control panel

The only way to modify the add/remove programs list is to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this, get someone to help who is, or just leave the registry alone.
It's best to back up the registry in case you make a mistake.
To back up your registry, see this article.

On to the fun part. Follow these instructions exactly. Note: this applies to Windows XP only. If you have Windows Vista, please modify the question.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  4. In the left pane, click the Uninstall registry key, and then click Export on the File menu.
  5. In the Export Registry File dialog box that appears, click Desktop in the Save in list, type uninstall in the File name box, and then click Save.
  6. Each key listed under Uninstall in the left pane of Registry Editor represents a program that is displayed in the Currently installed programs list of the Add or Remove Programs tool. To determine which program that each key represents, click the key, and then view the following values in the details pane on the right: DisplayName: The value data for the DisplayName key is the name that is listed in Add or Remove Programs.

    -and-

UninstallString: The value data for the UninstallString key is the program that is used to uninstall the program.
  7. After you identify the registry key that represents the program that you removed but which is still displayed in the Currently installed programs list of Add or Remove Programs, right-click the key in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, and then click Delete.

Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?" message.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
  9. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs list, verify that the program whose registry key you deleted is no longer listed.
  10. Do one of the following:
    • If the program list is not correct in Add or Remove Programs, double-click the Uninstall.reg file that you saved to your desktop in step 5 to restore the original list of programs in the registry.

      -or-
    • If the program list is correct in Add or Remove Programs, right-click the Uninstall.reg file on your desktop, and then click Delete.

Sony cyber-shot camera problem w/hard drive

Hello

My apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem , but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly in future.

Please download Disc Digger HERE. This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.

Once you have connected the memory card to the computer via either the camera or preferably with a usb card reader , run the program.

On the program , select the dig deep option for accidentaly deleted files or dig deeper for a formatted card. Then select the card you want to do the recovery on and run the program.

The data will be displayed and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has not been used since the pictures were lost. Save the files to a location on the computer hard drive and not back to the memory card as this will overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.

Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.

Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.

Kind Regards
Andrea
