Letters c,f,k,l,m,p,v,w,x,bksp and del dont work

So, I had a large scan.log file which I would have lost if I followed the instructions above. Instead hold the shift, on scan and bksp buttons simultaneously. The device will reboot with your file still functional!

Your keyboard is probably bad. You can fix it very easily by ordering the part online and following a tutorial on Youtube. It just involves a few screws and popping the keyboard out. Not something to trash it over or have repaired by a technician unless absolutely necessary.

To determine if you need to replace the keyboard, connect an USB keyboard to your laptop and if the USB keyboard functions properly then you need to replace the laptop keyboard.
If the USB keyboard malfunctions too then the motherboard is faulty.
It may not be cost effective to replace the motherboard.

To get in to bios you have to reboot and once screen turns black keep on pressing F2 key but dont hold it down but tap it and it will bring you in to bios menu. Some dell's use "Del" (delete) key so if this is the case just do same thing instead of tapping F2 just keep on tapping "Del" key. This will take you into bios. If this daris nuke does not work just put in your windows cd and reboot and on black screen just keep on tapping key F12 and this will ether give you boot menu to choose form and you need to choose cd or dvd rom or sometimes it will go in to it right away and it will say "press any key to boot from a cd-rom" so you can press any key on keyboard (like space bar) and then choose option to install windows and not repair, choose delete partition which is usually like couple screens(one is letter L and one is just delete) and then choose install windows and choose quick or normal format. Once formatting is done it will start the new install. Good luck.

hold down blue red and left scan buttons for 10 secs, in boot menu press shift then 1

There is a file named autorun in the drive witch needs to be deleted so you wont get the error anymore

what drives do you have in your pc?

start -> run -> then type in the run screen the following:

If you have c drive then type

del c:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a

If you have d drive also then type
del d:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a


If you have more disks just change the drive letter:
del e:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
del f:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
del g:\autorun.* /f /s /q /a
