- you can try checking your audio cables ( test it for line continuity )
- have your audio socket or port checked by a technician.
- you can also update the sound driver of you PC, maybe this is somewhat corrupted ( you can download the drivers to the support page of your PC manufacturer.

Hope this resolved your LCD monitor issues.

please feel free to email / reply back if you still have questions..

You need to isolate the problem to see if there's a problem with the monitor or with the sound card of the computer.

To isolate this problem, please try the steps below:

    1. Make sure that the monitor is properly connected to the computer.

    2. Check the volume of the monitor and the volume properties of the computer.

    3. Try to connect your monitor into a known working computer.

Sound no longer comes out of monitor. I believe nothing is muted. I replaced cable between monitor and desktop. Any suggestions.

You didn't provide a model for your Envision monitor, so I can provide specifics - but here's a few things to try: (1) Start an audio program on the computer (mp3, CD audio, movie, etc. (2) Disconnect the audio patch cable from the computer's speaker jack and plug in stereo headphones. Adjust the volume on the computer's audio control panel to set the volume. If you're not receiving any sound - make sure you're plugged into the speaker jack (this is often the green jack). If you now hear sound, continue to (3). If you are unable to hear any sounds - your problem is INSIDE the computer. More on this later. Continue to the next step. (3) Disconnect the headphones and try the audio patch cable between the computer and monitor again. Make sure you're using a stereo cable - it has 2 individual contact points on the plugs - mono cables have just two. Pay close attention to the jacks if more than one are offered on the monitor (some monitors have power output jacks, etc.). Select the "LINE IN" or "SPEAKER IN" jack on the monitor. Be sure the plugs are firmly seated into the jacks on both the monitor and computer. (4) Check the menu settings of the monitor to make sure that the speakers are enabled (or not disabled as the case may be).

if you were unable to hear audio in step (2) above, there is a problem with the audio circuit in the computer. Some things to check are: Is there a volume knob on the sound card that is turned to minimum? Are (all) the correct drivers installed for the sound card in control panel? Is the sound card enabled? Does the sound card have a problem indicated by an "x" or "!" on the icon in control panel? Many times, "uninstalling" the device in control panel and the "scanning for changes" to reinstall will solve the problem. Other times, it is an output device issue: Have you selected "Speakers" as the output (not HDMI or Digital Audio).

If still unable to get sound working, provide the Envision model number along with computer name & model or the sound card name and model. If the sound is built into the motherboard, provide the mother board name and model. With that info, it will be easier to get the info you need.

Hopefully, you got the sound working with the tips I provided above. Please rate my reply. Thanks.

Connected my acer AL 1717 monitor to my computer but unable to activate the sound from monitor speakers?

You have to plug the monitor speakers in. The sound output from your sound card is green, and you connect a small cable between that port and the input on your monitor.

I have a Sharp LCD Monitor LL-172C I upgraded my computer and no longer have sound from the speakers. Someone told me to download a driver but I am unable to find a listing for this model.

For the sound to work, you do not need the driver for the monitor, driver is for the display resolution adjustment.
Do you have the correct sound driver installed in your PC? All you need to get sound to the monitor is an audio cable with stereo miniphone pugs at each end. Do you get sound if you use the PC POWERED speakers attach to your PC?
Give us more details how you have it setup.

No Sound?

The driver seems to be unable to launch , this can be caused by a corupt driver file

Try downloading the file again , if the same thing happens , it may be because no previos driver was installed and therefore the updated driver can not update the original display driver

This may be one of those situations where you may need the original driver from the CD

Or it could mean you need to update your display by other means.

Let me know what happens.

Sound on the View Sonic Monitor

Yes, they are on the front of the screen. There should be a volume up and down button right on the front (usually to the left of the power). If there isn't a separate up and down, try the Menu or 1 and 2 buttons.

My monitor showing a white strip in the middle.

I suspect that the white strip is horizontally across the screen? This is definitely an electronic fault and indicates that the vertical deflection circuit has failed. In TV and monitor jargon this is known as field collapse. Open-up the monitor (switch-off first!) and look for any obvious bad connections on the board known as dry joints, especially around large components. If all is fine, then replace the vertical field integrated circuit. If all this sounds like mumbo-jumbo then rather refer servicing to a qualified tech, and try to get him/her not to rip you off by citing all the above lingo. Good luck.

Monitor settings

Have you checked the actual board that has the buttons to see fi there is an issue there?

If you've found nothing there and still experience the issue, sounds to me like you might be looking at a bad micro.

Unable to install my monitor;no sound, grainy graphics...

You need to install drivers for all your hardware (video card, sound card, modem, etc..) Drivers are a piece of software that tells the computer how to use hardware components, they contain all the instructions a computer needs to turn on and use the components. Do you have a driver disc that came with these parts or the computer itself? If not the only thing I can tell you is find out the make and model of the hardware components, then visit the manufactures web sites for the drivers. Without drivers you computer dosn't know how to operate hardware properbly or at all. It needs them.

Monitor problem: screen goes black, then comes in scrambled

It sounds like this one needs component-level troubleshooting, probably in the power supply section. One or more backlights may be going out, too.
