wish I had ignored "offer" to "upgrade" from to
    'improved" for email.

3 hrs with "tech support"-can't move 3rd email address.

chronic loop of resubmitting "verification" password.

    Ultimately cannot read/send email.

"home page" covered with pop up ads.

    cannot transport folders.

    Total frustration.

SOURCE: Cannot login to yahoo email account

I know yahoo has been having a lot of problems lately. If you are using a shortcut to get to your signing in page, try going through a new link instead and see if this helps. If not leave it for a little while and try again.

While they are in blue fixya, just like PDF files, has killed the link capability, probably for fear of viruses and other forms of malware being in linked sites. So go to the address at the top of this page and click on the links that are appropriate to your individual problems.

I should point out that using the telephone numbers, which I have not included, as well as the one above, is an exercise in futility. In addition to that they have killed their once useful chat line. Some people have commented that you can get mediocre service faster if you contact them from their Facebook account. However it was rated as one and a half stars. Basically Yahoo sucks.

Yahoo will never again be what it was before they hired their new CEO who is interested in dealing with large businesses because that's where the money is. So we peasants lose.

Windows mail gave me this error message: Account: 'yahoo mail', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR popgate unknown command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server...

If you have Yahoo! Mail Plus (a paid upgrade), you can access those messages directly from a standard email program (such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, etc.). You need to configure the account settings in your email program for the Yahoo service.

The settings for incoming mail are:
Incoming (POP) server:
Port: 995
Security: SSL

For more on Yahoo server settings, see this Yahoo help page:

For details on configuring the WLM email program, see this Microsoft help page:

Error 999

Unfortunately your IP address has been banned by yahoo. Thats why you won't be able to open your yahoo mail. There are only 3 options available to you.
1. Login from another PC whose IP address is different
2. Change the IP address of your PC
3. Wait for few days till yahoo removes ban from your IP

Forward the yahoo emails to another account

First, click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page and select Mail Options.
From the list on the left, click POP & Forwarding, then in the middle of the page click Set up or edit POP & Forwarding.
In the bottom half of this page, click inside the circle next to "Forwarding". Then enter the email address in the blank and click "Save."
Zing! – your mail now gets forwarded to that email address.
Note: You can’t simultaneously Forward and POP your mail.
