Philips mcm298/37 doors wont open

Could be that the door drive belt (if it uses one) has come off.

remove cover and disassemble the tray carefully, and see if it can be put back together/ reset in the tracks. Hope fully nothing is broke and your back and runnin.

The gears are jammed, or the timing gear is out of sync, and possibily a bad loading belt.

If someone knows how to fix the spring please let us know. The door came off and the spring popped out but i dont know where the spring goes for the door to pop back open. The open button is NOT what is wrong. Its just the spring that goes in crack on top part of opening where the door is. Tried several things

You have problem load /unloading mechanism. It use a small motor and plastic gears. Please check these parts including its power connections. The problem is lies there. You may need some part to replaced.

Possibly this could be a memory issue (provided you are getting long beeps while booting up the system)
what you can do is underneath the laptop is the memory door situated.
you need to use a philips screw driver and unscrew the door so that you can open the door and slide out the momory strips and reseat them back and try rebooting the system.this may fix the issue.

open up the unit and replace the broken drive belt for the dvd tray. us an O ring that you can get at any auto parts store. i replaced mine and it works fine now.

well, Either clip on the door is faulty or its the door interlock in which the door locks into easily replaced by undoing the clip pullling back the door rubber and replacing ..
