How to fix -E- problem Nikon D80. Thanks - Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

In the bottom right corner of my display on the top of the camera I have the following icon displayed -E-.  This is there when the camera is powered on or off.  When I attempt to take a picture I get a flash of red in the viewer.  I hope this is a little clearer.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi there, we would love to try and help you but we need to know what the problem is. "how to fix" is too general. Fix what?

The -E- just means that there is no SD card in the camera. There is also a setting that prevents the camera from attempting to take a shot without a card, and I assume that represents your flash in the viewfinder.

My nikon d80 is taking green pictures, what is wrong with it and how do i fix it?

Hi,

You may try resetting your camera to default settings. It's white balance might have been tweaked for custom settings. Find the two buttons with green dots next to them on the top right of D80. They are the +/-* and AF* buttons. Hold them both down for a few seconds. The top LCD blinks and everything is back to factory settings. If problem persists, you may contact Nikon for further troubleshooting and repair.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

I have a Nikon D80 and one day, I suddenly couldn't take pictures. When I turn my camera on, it automatically blinks the Err message. My shutter mechanics work fine, it recognizes my lenses, and playback...

Had same problems. The shutter is faulty although my D80 only registered about 2,000 shots.

Get it fixed at Nikon Service Center. It's your only option. Cost me $120.

How to use Nikon remote for D80

Set the release mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response takes a shot immediately, Delayed-remote waits two seconds, giving you an opportunity to hide the remote control behind your back.

Can i use a Quantray AF LD 70-300 mm lens with my nikon d80? Thanks.

That depends. If the Quantaray lens has a Nikon mount, then yes, no problem, it'll work on the D80. If it has a different mount, then it won't fit onto the D80.

What flash for Nikon D80

No, the FT1700 is not TTL compatible which is what the camera wants to use. The Promaster 7500EDF is compatible in all modes with the Nikon D80

My camera is now fixed. It was a tiny speck of dirt on the sensors between the mounting of the lense & the camera. The uy that fixed it said it is a problem with the camera because they are so sensitive.
