This sounds like it might of formatted the hard drive aswel and now needs partitioning.

Go to control panel then system tools then computer management.

on the left click disc management and see if it shows in this.

if it dont then you need to take the hard drive out of the case, and plug it into the computer inside via the sata cable and partion it in the boot options.

hope this helps

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I suspect an IRQ conflict in this case. where one day things are workig fine and the next day they are not because the IRQ conflict has made it's self known.

if no IRQ conflict is present , I would suspect a dead drive , time to replace the ole girl. these things happen , touchy equipment , buggy driver sets , you name it , things will however improve.

Freeagent problem

software driver bug , or overheat , most likely software driver conflict...

it's one of those things where you have to go over your computer with a fine toothed comb to find the problem.

it could be as simple as reloading windows and taking things step by step to see if the issue happens again and can be repeated.
