Add a 110. to the beginning of the model number. That's 110.84870100, which is a direct drive convertible from the early 90's. I have the same model.

Sears still has scans of he parts catalog for this model online.  The small version doesn't look right, but blows up properly if you click on the full size vew.  http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir...**.shcapp3305?modelNumber=110.84870100&pop=flush

Kenmore model #22622100 top load washer. My question is our washer has a sour smell and we have pulled it out from the wall. We are wondering how to take the top off.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer with diagrams and parts lists. Always a good reference tool.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-11022622100/0582/0153200?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=11022622100

Next, see the following for how to release the console and remove the cabinet:

As a final reference, see the following Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers:

If you look at the section on "Machine Base Parts" you'll see a number of springs and vibration pads.

It's possible that one or more of the springs or pads has come loose or broken.

In order to get to them you have to remove the cabinet.

Here is a description of how to do it.
