If it is occasional, 2-3 times a day, it's probably the condenser fan that everyone hates. It's easy to take out and replace. You can get some short term relief if you take it out, take off the fan, take out the motor and wd40 both end of the shaft. Either way make sure you put the fan back on the shaft all the way by tapping it lightly, it will slip on but it has to go on a bit further. the motor is easy to find on the parts sites

you should have warranty from the tech at least one month ,but it sounds like motor fan is giving up umplug your fridge take off back bottm part to expose the fan and condenser clean all the lint in the condenser vaccum is better ,turn fan with your finger it should be very loose ant turn freely if it stucks its the motor ,umplug the motor pull the fan with the plastic base out of its place, take off the screw on the fan, pull and twist it by hand, take off two or three screws that is holding the motor to de base, buy a newone ,a the apliances store or online for about 45.00 put back everything in reverse way.plug your fridge, enjoy!!! good luck

Last night, the freezer door on my older GE Profile fridge got left slightly open. This morning, it was making a loud noise and some of the food inside was starting to thaw. I turned it off for awhile...

The door being left open would have caused frost to form around the evaporator fan motor and that would be the source of your noise.

If the lights are still working then it is probable in defrost, wait about 30-45 min and see if it turns back on. If not then you might have a different problem.

What is the model number for your fridge? The model number is normally in the fridge on the right hand side.

We have a samsung american side by side fridge freezer, we had a power cut and when the power went back on the light in the fridge was flashing and making a clicking noise.also the panel on the outer door...

Check your owner's manual. There may be a "reset process" that you can perform in order to restore the refrigerator properly after a power outage. Otherwise, there may be an issue with the "main electronic control board". If this is the case, contact an appliance service company. If within warranty, contact Samsung!

Freezer making a loud noise.

Sounds as if the evaporator fan has shaft play or the blades are out of balance or striking something. When you open the door the pressure is equal but with the door closed the fan needs to push the air through the evaporator and return again and circle through fan again. I think soon would be a good time to unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel covering the evaporator and fan motor to inspect the fan, shaft play and the evaporator for frost buildup or any obstruction of air flow. Thanks, sea Breeze

I have a GE Profile PSC23. Everything works fine

I fixed it myself. After poking around the freezer, I saw that the area around the tube that gets water for ice making was frozen - this is at the top of the freezer. So I used a hot spong to melt the ice and the noise went away. Everything is working fine now.

Refrigerator knocking noise

the motor could be on the way out. Put your hand (carefully) on the motor (back of the refridgerator), if it is too hot to touch then the motor is burning out and will need to be replaced.

Loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

Samsung side by side refridgerator making noise and freezing

its a heater cycle problem..the defroster is not working properly. its building up ice in the evaporator that touches the evaporator fan that makes that loud noise but stops when you open a door. it could be either a bad heater, a bad thermo disc or a bad timer.hope i was able to help
