How many pumps in washer gwl-11 F&P?

I've had trouble with the drain pump but can get it to work. However, during the 1st fill cycle of the wash cycle, it fills to a point and then it is supposed to "spray" soapy water over the clothes. It's part of the process. On mine, it stopped doing this recently and I wondered if the same pump that drains it, is also the one that sprays the water? If they are one and the same, why would it work duringthe drain cycle and not during the spray cycle? Or are they 2 differrent pumps?

As a follow up...I watched the recent entire wash/rinse/spin cycle and the outlet I referred to in my earlier post actually DID spray happenned for just a couple of seconds AND during the rinse cycle....hmmmm.

BTW - is there a way to reset the entire system back to the original factory default? I've tried unplugging but that doesn't seem to work.

Ok,vi think you may be slightly confused as to the operation of your washing machine, so let me try cover bases: You have two inlet ports at the back of your machine, both of those have a solenoid valve, which control the supply of water to the dispenser, which distributes the water into the bowl like a watering can (lots of little holes). There is no pump, or pump like mechanism here only the water pressure from the taps. You also have a drain pump about 15cm from the base of your machine, from memory on the right hand side with a black hose coming out of it. Your inlets and drain pump are never in operation at the same time (as that Would be a complete waste of water). David identified a possiblity, considering your drain pump is causing you problems (most washing machines are interrelated and has secondary issues because of simple error) take the time to fully investigate this: Disconnect your machine, tilt on its side keeping an incline though as you don't want water on any electronics, take the drain hose(usually black) off, then ensure the fins of the drain pump are intact and clear of debris. Then as David said investigate the dispenser for debris, if neither show signs that they would cause the fault then you will need to have a look at the valves. Hopefully that helps

It's the same pump but, the click you hear between cycles is a solenoid switching between hoses. Chances are-you have a buildup of debris at the inlet of the pump. I've removed baby socks from them already.

As soon as water begins to fill the tube, water exits out the drain pump and drain hose. F/P GWL 11.

Is the drain hose too low? The drain hose needs to be higher than the top of the agitator , then curve over into the outlet pipe or basin.

Washer tries to fill, but water goes straight out the drain.

Either washer drain hose is too far down drain pipe, or there is a airtight seal where drain hose and house drain meet. Either would cause siphon effect.

Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer won't drain

Could be something in the pump. The pump is on the bottom of the tub.
It has a locking tab which you release and then twist the pump a hair and it will fall out. Warning: Have rags ready! I have the original GWL service manual and the GWL 11 supplimental manual. Let me know if you want them.

During the rinse cycle, our GWL 11 Fisher & Paykel

The problem is in the pump, so it will not pump out, you will need to find another way to empty it, removing the agitator will make the job easier.
When you get the water out the pump can be accessed from underneath, it turns anticlockwise to remove it,.
I would buy a new pump as it is most likely that is all that is wrong with it.

Kenmore washer fills during spin cycle and doesn't drain completely

HI, this is just a slight clog or faulty drain pump. check the following areas.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.
