SOURCE: audio driver installation failed from mother board cd

Hi, go into your bios and make sure the audio is enabled. the steps to do this will be with your motherboard instructions. If this still fails log onto the intel web site and click on the support tab and ask for help direct from them. Regards mistyman

try one of these sites.. you may have to download a system scan, i.e--driver detective, etc. but it will get you the updated drivers.

as i can understand you formatted using win xp so your drivers are not installed like VGA, sound driver.
you must have your motherboard cd use that disk to install drivers.

Toshiba Tecra 9100; "output device error" message

No sound? The only solution I've found is to get a USB headset like the Logitech USB Headset 20. I have had this same problem with my Tecra 9100 for almost 6 months. I tried on a pair of USB Headset and it works! because it bypasses your internal soundcard. The downside is that if you have a great pair of speakers on your laptop, then it's kind of a waste that you can never use it. But at least, with this, you can now listen to CDs and chat on the internet
