Mitsubishi projection tv model # VS 7085 was working when we turned it off last night. This morning it will not power up. We hear a click when we unplug it or plug it back in.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-6041 60 in. doesn't power up

Hello Tremulant

This denotes a possible problem with the Low or high voltage power supplies. The clicking you here might be the shutdown circuit acting because of excessive draw of current. The problem will most likely be associated with the HV power supply, but you will have to have a qualified TV technician check your TV to make sure.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

they are fairly similar to each other, did you get a error code from the led by pressing menu and input both in together and holding for 5 seconds?

SOURCE: green horizontal lines on screen no picture

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's

You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy

SOURCE: Projection TV, Sound but no Picture

If this Tv is a model year 1996 or 1998, It is quite possible your vertical IC needs resoldered. It is located on the small signal board. This board [quite large anyway] is the board on the left. I don't know the location off hand. The IC has seven pins and located on a heatsink, It is a TDA series. Resolder any and all grounds you see. May as well get the Large Signal board [On the right] resoldered. The other problem would be the P I P board, a small board standing up, that can be removed and replaced. But try the earlier first. This is tedious, but will produce results.

Need the location to the reset button on the mitsubishi vs 7085

The reset button should be a tiny hole in the front near the power button. You'll need to insert a small pointed object such as a toothpick in to press it. You'll see the familiar blinking light then it will turn off and you should be all set.

Mitsubishi VS-50501 - Black Screen

Is the power light staying on? If so press imput and menu together for 5 seconds to see if the set will blink a 2 digit repeating code. If that doesnt work. Check for CRT coolant leaks on the boards. This seems to happen alot as do faulty capacitors. Coolant leaks will be located on the chassis directly under the tubes they can cause corrosion and prevent your set from starting especially in the VS models.
