We recently had Webroot Spy Sweeper with AniVirus installed in our computer. We have set it to Sweep daily at 2:00 a.m. It does not Sweep as scheduled. The message tells us that ---it is due to the fact that we have logged off or that we have scheduled more than one sweep? None of these are true at least to the best of our knowledge!!!!

Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, clicking task manager, then the processes tab and right click the one for Spy Sweeper and click end process. Then start the program again. If all else fails, try restarting your computer. If this happens every time you run the sweep, uninstall and reinstall the program.
Web Root Spy Sweeper is an adware itself, this program install a key in the startupregistry with the name spy falcon, making you beleive that is a realadware .Sweeper auto quarantined some files need by the operating system............a better alternative is spyware terminator (click here) and is complete freeware
I too have Trend PC Cillin ( anti-virus ) and Webroot Spy sweeper... I schedule sweeps at different times so there is no overlap or conflicts.. I am running windows XP Pro ( i do not like Vista... even thou I may not have any choice at some point) but I have not had any conflicts or lockups between them.. There may be some other underlying issue with your system... For what it's worth...
i had the same problem getting also an error message when i would log in about a valid definition file and go to program option page to update the definition file, after trying fixes from others i found one that said to reboot computer and put in safe mode, then open spy sweeper in safe mode, everything was in large print and nothing was turned on, so i rebooted the computer again and this time when the screen came up came up normally and not in safe mode and most of all there was no error message, my spy sweeper is now opened and now it is sweeping like it is suppose to do i don't know who was the person that posted the resolution but thanks it works so everyone try it.
I have seen this problem a couple times. The only fix that seems to work is uninstalling Spysweeper and then reinstall it again. If you go to start>Programs>webroot you will see an uninstaller. Run that, reboot the computer, then reinstall again from your install disc.
