Question about GE Monogram ZDWC240NBS Stainless Steel Wine Cooler

1 Answer

I have a GE Monogram Wine cooler model ZDB24AABB cooling fan

I have a GE Monogram Wine cooler model ZDB24AABB . The cooling fan on the back doesn't start sometimes when it should. If I move the unit it starts and works properly for about 3 days. When the fan doesn't start the unit starts to get warm and you can smell it heating up. What controls the fan starting? is it a thermo switch of some kind?

Sounds like it is low on refrigerant or not pumping. Either would require a qualified service tech and the repair costs, depending on the price of the cooler, might possibly exceed what you'd want to spend.

It just stopt cooling (wgersdorf@yahoo.com)

Hello,

Turn the temperature dial to the lowest temperature setting. Wait 24 hours for the wine cooler to reach the desired temperature. Also, turn the wine cooler off and inspect the fan. If the fan if it's running or not.

Lastly, check the compressor.

These are the areas that could make your wine cooler stop cooling; the temperatue settings (Thermostat), then Fan and the compressor.

Check these three areas and let me have a feed back.

Bye for now.

The wine cooler doesn't seem to be cooling light goes on when you open door so pretty sure it has electricity to it?

Can you hear it running? If there is a question, leave the door open and remain there until you hear it start. This may take up to 15 minutes.
What do you have the control on? Wine coolers ar not refrigerators. (White) wine typically served at cellar temp (around 50 to 55 degrees. My friend, please don't tell me you are chilling quality Reds! You are killing them.

The wine cooler light works but it does not cool.

so the light tell us that it has power . you need to ck the fan underneath in back and make sure it is running and feel the compressor it runs when the fan does . and you may nees gas in the unit . . so ck the fans / then the compressor see if hot or can you feel it running and then the refergent . and the thermostat down in front . andy of these could cause the no cool problem. mm hope this has helped ..feed back pls ..

Brand new out of box and will not cool - after 12 hours - compressor is very hot ?

First question is, are there any fans that are built in that are not running? next is there may be no freon in the unit. Ive seen new stuff from the factory have no freon inside. feel the suction line (the bigger one) from the compressor. It should be cool. The discharge line (smal one) should be hot.
