I have a genesis weber gas grill with battery electric starter. the electric starter doesn't work and my guess is that the batteries have to be replaced. I put the grill together but have no idea where the batteries are located.

We changed out the battery on the starter and now when we try to start we are getting a ticking noise but the grill is not starting I've used a normal AAA battery-is that correct? What else can it...

The ticking noise doesn't mean your getting spark. Open the grill and look inside (gas off) and look for a spark when you push the starter. There should be a spark gap, if its not sparking look for a piece of food or fat stuck between the burners and the starter probe.

Two things....I changed the tanks out last night and I can't get the burners to light. Full tank of gas as I checked it. Took the burner covers off and cleaned the burner pipes itself and still nothing? ...

Replace the regulator to get your burners to work you can get that at Home Depot, call Weber to get the other part, if your grill is under warranty you may get it Free!

Igniter button won't depress after battery replacement

If dirt or dust got in between the push buuton and the button housing, the button will jam. This is what probably happened to yours. Only solution is to remove the starter unit and clean it. You can also replace the unit if necessary.

The electronic ignition on my grill no longer sparks to ignite the gas. I replaced the battery and cleaned the contact points but there was not any improvement. Can the entire assembly be replaced?

Yes you can replace the entire assembly.
However you can try adjusting the spark gap to see if this will resolve the issue.
Heat will often expand the spark gap thus rendering a spark impossible.
Small adjustments and be careful not to break the ceramic insulator.

Many gas grills use a static ignitor that does not require a battery.
Big red button you push that causes a snapping noise. This makes a spark and lights the gas. These can last quite a long time and inexpensive too.

Good luck!
