look at your manual that came with it it should show you how to configure it through the configuration page using an internet browser, the address will be usually 192.168.0.1?? the question mark is what you need to find out but it should be in the manual, you need to add the ssid and the password for the wireless network although i think that the g-310 only uses wep security and if your router is set to use wpa/psk then there is a conflict in protocol you will need to set the router to wep too. ok hope that helps

How to enter WEP passkey for router when there are 4. using HP210

On your router set up interface you will find the wireless network key.
If it is WEP then it will show you WEP Passphrase and WEP Key.
You need to type in WEP key and not the passphrase. WEP key is 10 or 26 digit Hexadecimal number. You need to enter this 10 or 26 digit number.
open the set up page of the router and check the wireless settings of the router.

The wireless network is protected with a WEP/WPA security key. You need to get this key from AOL with our membership.

Dell 3300 adapter

Hi,

Let me recap, just one more time.
Your wireless router,
You updated the firmware(most have out dated firmware from sitting in the warehouse)
Broadcast SSID
Using WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security
Mixed mode(b and g, n if available) This is needed for wireless devices to work properly.
Channels 1, 6 or 11. These channels are the channels most wireless devices work on the best(I use channel 11)
Now for the printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.

The patch is password protected. The way around the password protected zip file is to open the zip file with Winrar or 7zip(.exe file)

Restart your computer.

After router is done, now setup your wireless print server/printer.
3300 Utility
3300 Firmware
Attach the 3300 to your computer using the USB Cable and insert the 3300 disk. Follow the instructions. It should ask you for the network ID, type of security and password.
Download the proper drivers.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
Install the drivers, choose network, choose I'm using a wireless print server(if you do not see this, then choose add printer and you should see it then) and follow the instructions.

Thanks for contacting Fixya

Wireless printer connection with at&t u-verse

OK I FINALLY figured out how to fix this. You need to program your router to allow your printer to connect to it. Do this by going to your 2Wire router setting homepage by entering http://192.168.1.254 in your address bar. Now sross to the bottom and click wireless. Go down to MAC Filtering and click Edit Blocked/Allowed Device List. You need your printers MAC address now. You can get this by turning your printer on and press the button that has a check mark on it. It will print out a report page. Your MAC address should be called the hardware address and should be 12 digits. Now go back to your computer and enter this address in the form xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx where it says MAC address and click add to list. You might need to enter your password now mich should be on a sticker on the bottom of your router. Voila! Now make sure you have uninstalled the HP software from your previous install attempts if you have any, and turn off your firewall. (Control panel--security---turn off firewall) Now use the provided HP install disk and follow the instructions. Click install a wireless printer. It will not find it now but thats okay. When it asks what type of connection you want to have click wireless. Now select the basic setup where you connect an ethernet cable to your printer and router. Now connect the printer and router with the ethernet cable. Now click refresh. It should find it now. You'll need to select your network name and enter your WPA network key (located on the bottom of the router if you didnt change it). It should find it now!! Remember to turn your firewall back on! Happy printing!!

Wireless printing with AT&T U-verse and 3800 HGV-B and Linksys WPSM54G

I may not be able to completely solve the issue for all who posted, and I have not gotten the scanner part of my Brother MFC-5440CN printer/scanner/copier/fax to work through the wireless PS, but I can at least shed some light:

First off - trying to make the Linksys WPS54G work on a wireless network that has a decent level of security is NOT for the faint of heart!

Key issue is security; make sure you know what wireless security protocol your router is using (WEP-64, WEP-128, or WPA). My U-verse installation uses the exact same 2Wire router, but either it defaults to WPA security, or the tech set it up that way without asking me. WPA is preferable anyway, as it is the most secure, and I had my network set up on WPA with my ZOOM X6 when we had AT&T DSL.

The problem is that the Linksys unit is old/obsolete enough that it defaults to WEP or no security, and in fact the setup program and utilities on the CD that came with the refurb. unit I recently bought are way outdated compared to the current downloads available on their support site, and don't even offer WPA as an option.

If your U-verse router is configured for WPA, as is most likely, then you have to get your Linksys unit configured for WPA security before it can be properly "seen" on the network by your computers. This means either downloading the latest setup/driver programs from Linksys's support website and burning a fresh setup CD, or getting to the Web-interface of the unit and setting it there (I could not even get to the web-interface because of my firewall and other security). Only then can you set the unit to use WPA security with the same key/passphrase as your U-verse router and your computer(s).

I'd advise downloading the latest stuff in any case. I ended up downloading the latest firmware, upgrading it on the unit using the Bi-Admin util on the setup CD, setting up the unit using the web-interface (be patient, because sometimes the page loads can be very slow when it is reading or writing settings). I have never been able to access the web-interface from my laptop, which is probably the most secure on our network. I was only able to get things working when I accessed it from an old PC we rarely use, and it is only running Windoze (XP) Firewall for security. The print server had to be Ethernet connected to the router while doing the configuration to make it work.

D-Link DP 311U wireless setup

Had same problem. Got it to work!!
I have DLink DP-311U and 2Wire Gateway router/modem 2701HG-B.

Solution: Connect DP-311U to router via network cable.
Then you can see it either with PS Admin or with browser http://192.168.0.10 should be default IP address of DLink Print Server. Set Connection Mode=Infrastructure, ESS-ID=2WIRExxx (xxx is your number of the router) - this is your network name, and wireless channel=1.
And the most important - change your IP Address to 192.168.1.xxx - xxx=choose a number over 64 if it's not taken already.

On your Gateway page: http://gateway.2wire.net/xslt?PAGE=J46&THISPAGE=A02_POST&NEXTPAGE=J46
Set Network Name=2WIRExxx, WIreless Channel=1, enable SSID Broadcast, Disable wireless network Security.

Once you get those numbers in, check connectivity with above programs with cable connected, or typing new print server IP address in browser. Then disable cable and check again. You should be able to see the box. Then connect print server to printer and make sure your printer settings on computer point to new IP address.
