Question about Vacuums
We have a Eureka mega boss built-in vacuum installed 1994 - took out the cloth bag to clean it, but can't get it back in. It has a flexible band and loop, and there is a groove on the inside of the cannister - but we can't seem to get it ailgned properly.
I found that if you start by making sure that the tab that you pull to remove the filter is in a spot where you can reach it next time you need to remove it. Next, put the filter in over the inlet spoutand push it up to the white "stops" then gently push all the way around - you should be able to feel a groove around the edge of the filter.

The easiest way is probably to take the unit off the wall turn it upside down. This will give you some leverage. I would not try to get the ring in all at once, but leave a little out and then that piece that is left out you might need to bend it a little to get it in. There really is no trick that is why I am not a big fan of filtered central vacs. I prefer true cyclonic.
