Try to put your vista CD and restart. When it asks you to start form the CD press any key and try to repair it... If this doesn't work you may need to reinstall the Vista. I really can't understand how you can delete the C drive. You must have deleted part of it because windows is using some of the files saved in the C drive and you can't delete them while they are in use. Can you give me some more details about what happened?

Lost all data on lap top

The operating system files may have been deleted and the laptop cannot boot up. To get the laptop operating again you can try a Windows Repair, failing that you need to install Windows again.
To do a Windows Automatic System Repair for Windows XP, follow the instructions from this WEB site -

http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/howto-18.html
To do a Windows Automatic System Repair for Windows 7, follow the instructions from this WEB site -

To recover your data before you install Windows - remove the hard drive from the laptop and connect it to the USB hard drive adapter then connect it to a working computer's USB port. This computer will see the USB hard drive adapter and hard drive as an external storage device, you can then open the folders and files on the hard drive and copy the data files to the computer and to backup your files.

Data Recovery Software Free Download

Download free data recovery software here to take lost or deleted computer, camera or mobile phone data back from hard drives, USB drives and SD memory cards after unexpected delete, shift delete, format, reformat, CHKDSK RAW drive errors, not formatted drive or card errors, virus damage, computer corruption or drive or card corruption and more known or unknown data loss troubles.
Data Recovery Software to Recover Hard Drive or USB Drive Files
Generally, when your computer internal hard drive, external hard drive, USB portable hard drive or USB drive with many important PDF/DOC/PPT/EXCEL/TEXT documents, photos, audios, movies, apps, games and the like files are wiped or formatted or reformatted completely due to virus attack, drive RAW file system errors, drive unformatted errors or drive corruption problems, etc, or when your computer hard drive partitions data is lost due to accidental delete, shift delete or Recycle Bin emptying, do not spend treasure time in blaming yourself for preparing no hard drive data backup elsewhere in advance or depressingly suffering from giving up all very, very important information after data loss cases. In such situations, as long the original computer hard drive or USB flash drive is not overwritten by new files, the deleted or lost drive files are still able to be retrieved back with data recovery software. So, stop using your drive after delete or format and select a file recovery tool over the internet.
Data Recovery Software to Retrieve Android Phone SMS, Photos, Contacts and Data
If you unfortunately lose android cell phone SMS, photos, contacts and more data stored on a memory card that used inside this android mobile after a factory reset, security wipe, format or virus infection, or if you do have deleted very important android phone Micro SD or SD memory card games, apps and files since you do have accidentally erased mobile DCIM folder or the likes, do not rush to save new SMS, contact or file on this phone memory card and merely download data recovery software to scan this deleted, formatted, not formatted or RAW format phone memory card to see whether your phone information is still recoverable.
Please Note: Any data recovery software out there always helps scan and recover data that has been saved on the phone memory card, not phone internal memory. So, always save very, very important phone data on phone SD or Micro SD card, not phone internal memory.
Data Recovery Software to Rescue iPhone Pictures, Videos and Files
When you are stuck in some iPhone photo, video and file loss troubles, there are often two clues for you: firstly go check your Google account to see whether all your lost or deleted information is synced there and is able to be copied back directly. And then, secondly, also download and apply data recovery software to scan the memory card of your iPhone or iPad to get lost data back.
But, if you never save data backups on other storage device and Google account, and also have not used a phone memory card, your data often will be permanently lost or deleted once you perform a deleting or formatting process there.
Data Recovery Software to Get Lost Camera Photos and Videos Back
If your camera photos and videos are lost because your camera memory card says: "the card is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?", because you mistakenly delete camera card folders or do a format there or because your camera memory card is blank or has unsupported file system, also do not panic and plunge this camera memory card to your Windows PC and see whether data recovery software is able to rescue your lost images, videos and files back with success.

How can i reset my gateway gt 5228 to factory settings?

Hi blainholdens,
You cannot delete everything on your hard drive if it is your main operating system drive. If you don't have a CD with which to install your operating system you will have to install the hard drive into another PC as a secondary drive, open 'My computer', right click on your hard drive and select the 'format' option from the drop-down menu.
Formatting the hard drive is effectively erasing all data from the disk and making it active and preparing it for starting new.

Best wishes,
Graemevm

HI I have a Transcend hard drive and it formatted, all documents and pictures are all deleted, how can i get it back. Pls help thank-you

Hi jennielakato

It is not easy to recover files from a formatted hard drive, but it is not impossible. Data written onto a Hard Drive or other storage device is not deleted by formatting. Formatting is a BIOS instruction to the Operating System, defining areas on the write/read surface of the hard Drive to and from which the Operating System can and cannot write and read data. Any data written prior to formatting is still there, under the formatting, it's just that the Operating System is instructed to ignore it. Retrieving this lost data requires the Hard Drive to be removed and connected with a Hard Drive Dock, and External Hard Drive Enclosure or a USB to IDE/SATA Adapter Cable to a 2nd Computer with specialist Data Recovery software installed on it, such as:

Since Data Recovery applications work by jigsaw-puzzling matching but dislocated File Fragments back together, it is more difficult to recover data if any new data has been written onto the Hard Drive after formatting. Since different Recovery applications use a variety of heuristic data matching algorithms, some more effective than others, it worthwhile trying a variety of different applications, if the lost data is important.

I hope this helps.

I want to wipe computer clean and start over

What you want is to format your hard drive. If you have multiple hard drives you have to erase all but the one with your operating system (windows), this can be done by right clicking on them, choosing format.. and following the instructions. Then you have to boot from a cd with an operating system (windows xp, vista, 7, linux!) and during the installation choose to format the hard drive with your previous operating system and install the new one over it. Personal advice: Make sure you have kept a copy of anything you don't want to loose!

This Driver it loss after i format my PC

Reformatting PC's system operation will cause all of installed software got deleted from System (Drive C:) so You must re-install those software with the driver from CD installation or from downloaded driver file. That's why save file in Hard Drive (Drive D, E etc) will be saver because it won't be deleted when we format the Windows or OS.

Hope this help and if helpful RATE please.

Hi, looks like you will need to format your hard drive and reinstall windows. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} To install new version of XP. Insert XP CD into drive, reboot pc pressing F1 button.. This takes you into BIOS, change your primary boot device to CDrom, save changes and reboot. Select boot from CD once this appears and wait for files to be installed. Select the part of the hard drive you wish to use for your operating system (usually the largest) and select partition this drive. Delete any previous os, and reformat hard drive. (Be aware this removes everything saved on your hard drive, so always back up first) Re boot afterwards and reinstall operating system.
Hope this helps

Uninstall xp

You can remove service pack 2 from within add/remove programmes, you will not lose any documents, but you will lose the udated security patches which is not recommended. If you mean you wish to remove XP SP completely, obviously the files and everything you have installed on c drive will be deleted as you can only save docs etc within an operating system, as c: is just a partition on your hard drive the files reside within the operating system. If you are upgrading to another operating system my advice would be to use a dual boot system and install the other operating system on a seperate partition of your drive, but you would have to have a fair knowledge of pc operating system installation processes.
