IT MIGHT BE DIRTY- THIS IS WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY 52IN AFTER REPLACING THE LAMP LIGHT AND ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND COULD NOT FIGGER IT OUT EITHER ?? GOOD LUCK!

I have been trouble shooting this with the dealer for two days and here it is:
The TV sensors are very touchy – and it HATES DIRT so if you replaced the LAMP – go back and RE CLEAN THE FILTER and CLEAN OUT THE LAMP COMPARTMENT with a Blower or a Brush, but first turn off the TV for about 15 minutes. I did not clean out the lamp compartment, and the dealer said that the Fans sense the dirt and will not work because of that.
THEN make sure that your screws are replaced back in the holes in the cover plate that have the little errors over them. The cover plate AGAIN is very sensitive to the functioning of the TV. If you don’t believe me – check it out, when the light is blinking yellow on the status button, PRESS ON the filter cover OR the lamp light cover and see if it the light turns off, because that is what the status light is telling you the problem is about per the owners manual.
Well a clean machine is a happy machine – hope this resolves all your problems and saves everyone a lot of heartache!
Just thought I would share –

My Mitsubishi WD-65638 turns on then flickers and turns off?

Flickering must be due to the fault to lamp itself. If you wish to get more details, check this link.

Samsung HLS5087W picture keeps turning off. Sometimes it happens after a couple of hours and then every 10 minutes after that. recently changed both bulb and color wheel. Tv only 6 years old.

I would first check the lamp is properly seated and was it a Samsung or a generic brand? Also not indicated is does sound remain or not.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

TV picture goes out

The tv is shutting down because of a power problem. It could be the power transformer or a color gun overheating. Expect at least a couple of hundred dollars to fix it. Some shops will do house calls for around $65 and can diagnose the problem and give you an estimate. Usually they can just remove the board, take it to the shop and repair it, then reinstall it.
