I have an MSI EX700 laptop and I have a problem that when I shutdown my laptop, there will be the flashing sleep light, as if it was in suspend mode and not shutdown. I have formatted the laptop to adress this problem but with no success as it still flashes upon shutdown

You might want to try a bios update. Check out the MSI support webpage to see if there is one. They've probably already addressed this issue. If not send me a message and I'll give you some other ideas.

MSI L1600 netbook seems to be stuck in sleep mode. The power also cannot be turned off - even removing the battery and replacing it.

try to boot the computer, if you hear the start up sound then mobo is not bad. this issue could be caused due to boot sector viruses as well. see if the back light turns on ..
check the settings in bios and try to run a recovery. if neither helps

How to wake msi u130 from sleeping?tnx

If it is in sleep pressing any key or moving the mouse will generally wake it up. If you left the computer unplugged in sleep mode then it most likely ran out of power. If your using hibernate I would recommend not using it as it has so many issues.... :) If you have to hit the power button to wake it up then it's either shutdown or in hibernate. FYI there will generally be an amber light on to indicate sleep mode. If no lights it's most likely not in sleep mode.
Comment if you need additional assistance.

Sleep mode is blinking. i cannot restart

Have you tried holding the power button for a few seconds till it restart. If that does not work try removing the battery. Once you get it started go to power options and turn off sleep mode and hybrid sleep under advanced settings.
Thanks for using FixYa

Power LED Flashing Yellow on Qosmio laptop F15

This flashing LED means only one thing, and it is quite harmless:

Your laptop is either "asleep" (suspended) or in "hibernation" mode.It does this if left for a long time with no activity/input from you. You must simply "wake the laptop up" now:

Look for a symbol on keyboard for "sleeping" (like a half moon with zzzz) and press that key WITH whatever color coded key matches the symbol color (usually "FN" key). If there is no suchkey, press the space bar and hold it down a few seconds.

Then wait. Can take 60 seconds to "wake up" on slower processors.

If this does not work, press AND hold the POWER button for 10 seconds. Then wait 60 seconds and press power key again, briefly, to start laptop normally.

Pressing and holding the power button 6-10 seconds forces a complete system shutdown.

If this happens often, something may be wrong with APM or ACPI settings/driver. You can go to start menu/settings/control panels/power management and adjust settings (or disable sleep/suspend and hibernation if all else fails to resolve situation)

good luck.

Toshiba power led flashing yellow

This flashing LED usually means only two things, both are quite harmless:

1. Some laptops will flash the power LED when battery is charging. If this is the case, it should stop when battery is fully charged. This can be presumed if the laptop starts normally while LED flashes. If not, suspect step 2 below:

If there is no suchkey, press the space bar and hold it down a few seconds.

good luck.
