The mold heater/thermostat is bad.

You can test the ice maker by pulling the from cover off and exposing the modular head as they call it. You will see holes around the gear with letters next to them. Take a jumper wire and place one in the M hole and the other end into the N hole. This should kick start the ice maker. When you here a click sound, sometimes you'll see a little spark behind the gear which is normal. When this happens pull the jumper wire out and the ice maker should do its normal cycle. Things to check for also is the fill tube blocked with ice, is the temperature in the freezer below 10 degrees F? These things will cause the ice maker not to work as well.

Kenmore Elite fridge Ice Maker quit spitting out ice. There are ice cubes in the maker, but it wont release them to the bin

One thing you can do is clean up the condenser coils, the toe kick plate, and the area around the compressor to where the air flows better and it might start working.Other than that your ice mold thermostat inside the ice maker itself could be bad. They are not to hard to replace on modular type ice makers: themobilian_2492.jpg

I have an ED2JHGXRBOO side by side refriderator. I am looking for a manuel to help me trouble shoot. My ice maker has quit working and we think it may be the motor. Thank you

Look like Water valve, Check the OHM on Ice maker valve the red color one, or remove 2 screw that hold the vale, pull it out,, unplug the wire that attached to the valve, also the pull out the tubing that supply water to the ice maker by depress the ring while pull the tubing, make a jump wire wirth the cord plug on one end the other end attach the wire connector with insulated plug in to the ice water supply valve side, you will see if the water come out, if not replace the vale which about $39.95 @ Amazon.com, hope this will help.

Freezer is too cold, ice crystals. Refriderator

I'm not sure which one you have, but try this: Look for the area where the air passes from the freezer to the refrigerator side, in the wall somewhere between them. Make sure that there isn't something blocking the passage. This is a good place to start.

Ice maker not getting water

Hi, The first thing to check is the inlet tube going through the back wall. Make sure it isn't plugged with ice. If the inlet is open, you can remove the front cover on the ice maker and locate the to holes marked M an N. Use an insulated wire and strip off about 1" on the ends. Insert the wire ends into these hole and see if the white gear on the ice maker head starts to turn. Let it advance through the cycle and see if you can hear the inlet valve hum when calling fpr water. If water enters the icemaker, you will need to replace the head modual board or the whole ice maker. There is not much difference in cast.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Kenmore Coldspot Model 70162990 - not making ice

You've either got a bad timer on the ice maker or the water valve is defective. You need to verify that the timer is moving first. If it isn't try pushing in on the dial on the end of the ice maker. It is under the white square cover at the end of the ice maker, usually towards the door, but in some units it points to the left side wall. If it begins to run when you do that, then the timer is broken. If not then I would say that the valve is defective.

ICE MAKER HAS QUIT WORKING

take off the cover to the ice maker. make sure the 2 tabs in the middle of the main gear are in tack and not broken. if one of those tabs is bent or broken, the gear will not make a full rotation. if the gear is fine, check your fill tube in the back of your freezer that goes to the ice maker and make sure it is not frozen. if it is, it will need to be thawed. does your unit have a water filter? if so,it may be plugged and need to be changed. the last thing would be an issue with the water value itself. Kenmore side by side ice maker

Hello,
There are as you can imagine many possible causes for you no ice condition. I will give you the most common problem for the year model you have. I hope this helps you.
You will need to remove the ice maker from the freezer compartment to check it. Once it is repaired if the following information does help, and you reinstall the ice maker, it should go through a cycle automatically within an hour of your reinstalling it in the freezer compartment.
Once you have the ice maker out of the freezer compartment you will need to remove the white cover on the end of the ice maker and look at the center of the large white gear. If the part inside the hole in the center of the gear is broken or looks twisted, you will need to replaced the module. The module is the part that has the large white gear and is held in the ice maker by 3 phillips head screws. It only comes as an assembly. You can't get just the little broken piece.
