Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators

Open Question

Leaking dark, oily fluid

This refrigerator is 6 years old and in good working condition. A leak has just begun, at the front of the refrigerator near the door hinges. The material leaking is dark in color, almost jet black, with an oily texture. The amount of fluid leaked so far is roughly 3 to 5 cubic centimeters. We had an appliance technician over here this morning. Neither he nor his partner, who has been working on appliances for 30 years, knew what was going on. He did say that everything looked fine, except for the leak. I would very much like to know what this stuff is.

I have had my Tuscon to 2 Hyundai dealers and both are giving me nothing.....for 4 months I have been experiencing the smell of oil/lube fluid burning which is coming into the cab, it is not exhaust fumes....

Good job, sounds like you are onto it. Only thing wrong with your analysis, is it could be leaking all the time, and only starts smoking when exhaust is hot enough to burn it.
Leaking power steering hoses can be very difficult to remove and replace-location makes them difficult to access, holding brackets may be hard to find. Likely you will need the front of car up on jackstands, and work from underneath. The two lines (the power line and return line) connect to the PS reservoir at top, and to the rack and pinion unit mounted on a crossmember below and behind the engine. Wipe both of them off to find the leak. You may have to run the engine while underneath to spot the leak. Often a small mirror helps to see up behind the engine. And remember, the fluid may leak at one place, then run along the outside of the line before it starts dripping on the exhaust. You may luck out and have a fitting on the reservoir that just needs tightening.
Good luck.

Pinkish fluid from front of car

this sounds like coolant, as this car uses the pinkish radiator coolant, you may have a leaking radiator or a bad hose, you will need to pressure test the cooling system to find the leak, the only other fluid is the ****** fluid but thats more of a dark red color so i would say its the coolant thats leaking, these cars have radiator leak as they get old but again to be sure you would need to look at the radiator and maybe pressure test it to find the leak. good day

95 f150 brake pedal just started going almost to the floor to stop.

hi this means you have an air leak in the system, something is leaking, could be the master cylinder or a rear wheel cylinder, to check if its the master cylinder, look under the dash where the brake peddle is ans see if it is wet or damp, also look in the engine bay where the survo is and see if it is dripping or damp around that area, to see if the rear wheel cylinders are leaking look under the truck at the rear of the wheels they will be either dark and damp and oily, or dry and dusty if not leaking, if leaking you need to replace the one that is...hope this helps

It is leaking muliple substances. one is red leaking on the right side of the car and right next to the red leak its a tube looking thing that is frayed and leaking a clear oily substance, the other is...

The "Red" is transmission fluid, the "Clear" is most likely power steering fluid, or it could be "refrigerent oil" from the A/C. I don't know what could be leaking in the rear of the car maybe oil from one of the rear struts or maybe brake fluid. Do the brakes seem to work OK yet? If so it's probably not brake fluid. It could be condensation coming out of the muffler, there a weap hole in the muffler to allow excess water to run out. It might be picking up some color from the muffler. The transmission and the power steering are the biggest concerns you don't want to let the fluid level get low on either of those. If the transmission is leaking on the right side it's most likely the axel seal or maybe the pan gasket. Neither of these should be an expensive fix. But, you should get it to a shop and have it checked out. Try to find an independent shop instead of the dealer the independents are usually cheaper and do just as good of work. Get an estimate!!

Most probably a leaking water pump. G12 radiator fluid is red, but so is automatic transmission fluid.
The water pump is driven by the belt near the air filter. Park ur car and let it run, look underneath ur car to see where it's leaking from.
Radiator fluid is slightly oily and has a sweet smell to it. Touch the fluid off the ground and smell it.

Is ur car automatic or manual? Which engine?? 1.8 or 2.0?

Get back to me so we can figure out ur next move.
