Question about HP ScanJet 3670 Flatbed Scanner

The scanner isn't recognised by my PC!!

Our PC doesn't recognise the scanner.We reinstalled it many times,we changed the cable that connects the scanner to the computer,but it still doesn't recognise it.Also,the HP Director,doesn't contain the scan option,it only has print.What do we have to do?

Make Sure you have the driver and go to the manufactures website for driver

Disconnect the scanner from the computer. Uninstall driver software, shut down and restart the Comp. Reinstall the driver. (http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0036991.asp?model= ). connect the scanner and the system will report USB device plugged in. This should work.

Have downloaded a driver for mustek 600cu but still not recognising scanner


Hi,
First install software driver if finish, connect your scanner USB cable to USB ports of CPU(make sure that your USB ports working good, test also using your USB flash drive).then you can see on screen automatic detect your scanner. if not detected try to change your USB scanner data cable. then try again connect to USB ports of CPU.

Just let me know if not yet working.

After reformatting my computer I have treid to reinstall the scanner and the software tells me the twain driver is missing. I went to canon website and downloaded the twain driver for the canoscan N670U....


Please check whether your scanner gets detected while connectiNg to your PC. If not please check your cable.Did you down loaded the correct driver that is meant for your OS? Please check. One more thing is the PCB at the bottom of your scanner is getting heated up? Then it canbe a problem regarding your PCB. Just replace it

Failure in initialization of Scanner. Scanner is offline or , scanner is turned off.


First check if the scanner is working in 'offline' mode by 'counting' a few pages.
Connect to the comp, if SCSI is the interface, you need to start the scanner first, if USB you can connect the scanner even after comp powering on. If the scanner is not recognised, reinstall driver software and scanning software.

Try connecting the device on a different port and check if it will be detected if still not power off the device for 30 seconds and if still not detected you can use a different data cable for this unit so we can check if the cable is working fine........

OK.
The first thing I would try a different cable between the PC and scanner just in case it's faulty. Use a 6-foot USB) cable.
If this doesn't fix the problem:
Disconnect the scanner.
Remove the scanner driver so that we can start from scratch.
Go to http://www.mustek.com/mustek/supportdrivers.php and select your scanner model.
Download the twain driver and panel zip file.
Extract the file and install the driver
After installation, restart your system.
Once the system has restarted, reconnect the scanner.
Check the scanner icon on the control panel to make sure that it has installed successfully and that the red X is not shown.
If this does not work let me know.

Canoscan 9900F isn't recognized by any of my Mac software


you could try looking in system profiler, to see if the scanner is even recognised by the system - if not it's a connection problem.

try connecting via firewire instead of USB (or vice versa)

otherwise, see if vuescan recognises the scanner.

Is the scanner not recognised or is it Not scanning?

Is the comp recognising the scanner? If not reinstall the driver. Run scandisk on the drive where the OS is installed. Try uninstall and reinstall.

Pls check if the scanner platten is moving, it could be a hardware problem.

Usually this is a problem with old (parrallel port ) H.P Scanners. Shut down your PC, remoce power of the scanner, remove the data cable of the scanner both at PC as well as at scanner end. Reboot the PC. reconnect the data cable and then the power cable ofthe scanner. Try using it. If you have win98, it should work now. If Win XP_P, reboot your PC, it should work. If the problem persists, try re-installing the drivers.
