I don't know my empowering recovering password on my laptop, because I want to reset my laptop back to factory default settings.

Why I want to set my laptop back to Factory settings...because I can't do anything else on it. All I can do is, put in a pass word once it is on, then the Windows Repair Dialogue box appears, saying windows trying to fix problem. But then it's saying and showing window's is unable to fix problem.....etc etc etc. Hence Why I want to set it back to Factory Default settings, but I can't because I need password, which I can't remember what it is.

SOURCE: I'm trying to restore my laptop back to factory settings It's windows 7 the cd disk don't recovery disc don't work

Have you tried while in Windows, to use the Start Menu, find Acer on the All Programs list, and locate the recovery utility? I have an Acer laptop - an Aspire - and had to do exactly that. I used the built-in recovery routine on the Acer Laptop and was able to rebuild my laptop to the condition of when it just came out of the box, brand new.It will delete all your installations since you got it, applications and documents and photos, etc., will be gone, but your laptop will function as if brand new. Good luck with it. -a.

SOURCE: how to reset acer laptop to factory setting without cd or password

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Im trying to reset my whole computer back to factory settings and dont have the cd. and i do have the empowering technology thing but dont have the password to that the hint is balloon and i dont even know...

The default empowering password is 000000. That would be five or six zeros, I am fairly certain it is 6. You will need to boot from the original C drive for the factory restore to work. Once you enter the password in the empowering technology, you should find the option for a full factory restore.

Hope this helps

How can I recover my password, I have forgotten it?

Generally you cannot.
You should try using the default password for your router if you have not changed it. If it doesn't work, you can reset the router by pushing in the button on the back of the router and holding it for 10 seconds. Usually, it is protected by the case so you cant accidentally press it, use toothpick or a needle or some such. By doing that you are resetting it to the factory settings which means password will be reset to the factory default too.
However, you will also reset user info such as your Internet username and password and things like your wireless network set-up (including its password), port forwards and so forth. Make sure you know how to re-enter that information so you can re-establish the connection to Internet or any wireless devices.

I need my d-link wireless password to connect to an I pod touch, I had it written down but it must be wrong and the touch wont recognize the wireless.

If you don't remember the password for your wireless you will need to do a hard reset on the router and restore it back to factory defaults.

Press and hold the reset button at the back for 30 seconds. The router will reboot and you should be able to login to the config page at http://192.168.0.1 with the user name "admin" and no password

I changed the default password, and I forgot it. How can reset the password, without lost the configuration?

There is no way to recover the password unless you reset it to factory defaults. This would mean losing your current configuration. I would try to guess everything you can possibly think of. If you still can't figure it out you need to reset to factory settings. To reset factory settings there is a button on the back of the router that says reset. Hold this down for 30 seconds and everything should be reset.

Don't know my old passphrase, I have model #wgr614, trying to set-up my new printer and they want to know the passphrase, I put what I can remember and it says it is wrong. How do I set a new password...

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

or

if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

hope this helps

How do you restore an acer 5738 to its factory settings

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.
