If it the Dremel Versatip then it isnt wired as it is run by gas. I had the same problem - turned out the pezoignition system had failed. Replaced under warranty. No questions.

Make sure the wires inside the wall plug are all secure, aswell as the ones going to the element inside the iron. If everything looks okay it might be the thermostat, which senses when the iron is too hot, and switches it off and on keeping the heat regulated. This component is replaceable, but you'll need to get one from the dealers. Hope that helps.

How to use glue gun

PLug it in and if there is a on/off swith turn it on. The gun's heating element will get hot. When it is hot enough to melt the glue stick you have put inside through the hole (that is glue stick sized and on your end) then the trigger will push the glue stcik into the hot metal melting and coming out the end so you can deliver it where you want to glue something. Beware of the heat. You absolutely can burn yourself touching the hot parts of the glue gun. Think how you would not touch the hot part of a steam iron... same problem.) That's pretty much it. Pull the trigger to push the glue stick though and add more sticks as you need them. And beware of the very hot nature of hte tool.

I just bought it 2 days ago and when i go to plug it in, it wont heat up. it was working fine this morning (10 hours ago)

If you just bought this two days ago it is still warrantied and would not be worth fixing it because you would void the warranty on it I would suggest bringing it back to where you bought it if you have any further questions message me back or if this is not warrantied message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks again Rick

When I had floorboards put in, my little boy stepped on the glue(with shoes) and transferred to tiled area which has got that uneven surface(not smooth)

To remove the glue - assuming it is in fact a heat glue - you need to heat it and get it to stick to something else.
Normally you put a brown paper bag over the stuff and iron it with a normal domestic iron. If the surface is *really* uneven then heating it gently with a hot air gun then pressing a paper bag on top will work as well.
Use brown paper because it is more absorbent than other papers. Don't use newspaper because it has a habit of transferring ink to the other surface. You can also use a piece of cotton sheeting and even kitchen towel works too.
If you're talking about the "basically flat but slightly uneven surface" of a tile used on the kitchen floor, I'd probably use a couple of sheets of kitchen towel with a good texture pattern. Press a hot iron on top to transfer the heat and the glue will come up easy.
A final wipe with mineral turpentine will help to remove the last of the waxy residue.

I can't find instructions for dremel versatip to change the heads how do you do this

The pdf manual is here: http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMCache/English%20[US]/t10/0000000/r00554v-1.pdf
BUT it doesn't explain how to change the bits. If I remember correctly there is a grub screw near the tip that you loosen with a small flat blade screwdriver to change the tips. If your model is different then perhaps posting a picture would make it easier to give a better description.

Glue for metal needed

Hello Eddie, W/D here.

I have found one two-part epoxey that is perfect for your use. It is called JB Weld, and comes in formulations for steel and plastic. It works VERY well. I have used it to mend a crock pot, a tractor block and dozens of other items. Get some and try it. You'll be pleased. Make sure that the parts that you intend to join together are lightly sanded to give the epoxy more surface area to adhere to, and clean them free of any oils, waxes or dirt.
Best regards, --W/D--

3M EC Hot melt glue gun with modules has quit heating.

You'll have to look at the plug all the way to the heating element. It's possible it's melted, also it might be that the iron has poor contact with the wires attaching to it. Does it have any temperature control? Any thing that is in between the wires from the plug to the iron of glue gun might be shot.

put a towel over the glue and iron over the towl. the glue will melt and the towel will soak it up. That works for other things like crayons also.

Glue Gun Support

Plug the glue gun into an electrical outlet. Make sure it is placed in a secure place, away from flammable items. As the glue gun heats up, a little bit of glue might drip from the end so you won’t want to leave it on a wood table or on carpet. Insert a glue stick into the back of the glue gun. If the glue gun already has a glue stick in the chamber, keep a second one in reserve nearby. Gather the materials you want to glue together. Hot glue works exceptionally well on thick fabrics, dried flowers, Styrofoam, wood and plastics. Since it leaves a thicker residue, it is not the best choice for thin papers, fabrics and ceramics. Check to see if the glue in the gun has melted by squeezing the trigger slightly and touching the tip to a test piece of paper. If the glue comes out easily, the glue gun has heated up fully. If the trigger is hard to pull, wait a minute more for the gun to heat more completely. Pick up the glue gun and squeeze the trigger slightly while you draw a thin line on one side of the item to be glued. Immediately place the other object to be glued on the glue line, pressing firmly. Hold the two pieces together for about 15 seconds. Test to see if the item still holds when you remove one hand. Let the item set for a few minutes in order to “cure.” Once the glue has dried fully, use a fingernail to scrape away any of the excess glue.
