How do I get out of program?

Try exiting normally using the X button on top right hand of screen. If this does not work Type and Hold: CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard at the same time.

If running Windows 8 or 7 select Task Manager. Any other OS will likely pull up task manager automatically. Select the offending program from the list of open programs and close it.

Depending on how locked up the program is this may take a moment. If after a full minute or two this still fails, you may need to use the same option to pull up task manager and reset the PC.

How to solve genuine problem

Welcome to FixYa

There are a number of ways to resolve this issue. The first and simplest way is to download and run a microsoft fix it you can find it here http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9763076

If this does not work you can try this

  • Open Windows XP task manager window, You can do it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del or right click on taskbar and then select Task Manager.
  • On the Task Manager pop up window under processes tab find wgatray.exe process and then right click and select End process tree option and then select yes.
  • Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.
  • Delete WgaTray.exe file from c:WindowsSystem32.
  • Delete WgaTray.exe file from c:WindowsSystem32dllcache.
  • Click on Start menu and write regedit.
  • Browse to the location,HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonNotify
  • Delete the folder 'WgaLogon' and all its contents
  • Restart Windows XP.

As soon as you complete the above steps it will pop up again like Windows is Not Genuine. You can fix even this trouble just follow the following steps.

  • Ignore Step 2 of ending wgatray.exe before restarting to Safe Mode as it serves no purpose.
  • At Step 4, wait on the deletion confirmation dialog box and then open task manager to end wgatray.exe
  • When you are again prompted for a confirmation for terminating the process, align that confirmation box over the delete confirmation box.
  • Press Yes on the Task Manager prompt and then quickly press Yes on the deletion confirmation. (You need to repeat this if you miss it)
  • If you did it quickly then you will be able to delete the file.
  • Step #5 can be missed. I was able to do it without the Step #5.
  • Complete Step 6 to 9 as instructed.

Once you finished the all above steps just follow these steps too.

  • Go to Windows XP Control Panel > Security Center > Automatic Update Settings.
  • Select the third option "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them".
  • Click Ok.
  • Now when Windows Updates icon will appear in the system tray (it will take some time), click on the icon and it will display a list of available updates.
  • This time unselect the checkbox of Windows Genuine Advantage Notification Tool, and click on Download.
  • Select "Don't notify my about these updates again" so it will ignored every time updates are downloaded.
  • From the next time, make sure to check the list of download so that you might not install any new version of this tool.

I have to desabled my task manager permanently,. but how??????

To disable task manager permanently you will need to follow these instructions carefully, REMEMBER; here you are in the REGISTRY and mistakes may cost the operating system to crush:: Go to this page and download a small GUI. This small GUI (Graphical User Interface) utility allows you to easily enable or disable Task Manager. The only time its useful, or effective, is when you see this error message when you try to use Task Manager. OR
Disable Task Manager Task Manager has setting controls that anable for users to start and Task programs and view processes, running applications and make changes to the priority or state of the individual processes. To disable it you will need to do the following :
Click "start" click "Run" type "regedit" enter this opens your registry then find the key below.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
Create a new DWORD valued named "DisableTaskMgr" and set it to= "1" to disable Task Manager. to re-enable it set it to= "0" Don't forget you may need to log off for the changes to take effect.

No Task Manager menu bar

This sounds like you're running in the Task Manager's reduced mode. Double-click the WHITE border of the Task Manager to switch back (note - this is not the same as the boarder of the application).

I've included a screen shot. Click within the red circle. Good luck. c5921e3.jpg

How to enable registry edit & how enable task manager

There is 2 ways to do this.
1) navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPolicies. Here open System, DisableTaskMgr, and change Value data to 0, in order to enable Task Manager, or to 1 in order to disable the tool

2) type "gpedit.msc" in the Search box under the Start menu and then launch the tool with elevated privileges, as shown above. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates; System, Ctrl+Alt+Del Options, Remove Task Manager, and here you can choose between either Enable or Disable the utility
