Question about Jandy Laars LX Pool Heater / 400,000 BTU / Natural Gas

2 Answers

My Heater is leaking water from underneath.

I have a Jandy Laars LX pool Heater that is 5 years old. The heater is leaking and it looks like a heater core leak as opposed to a gasket. I works fine and is only lightly used for occasional spa use. Can the core be replaced as opposed to spending thousands of dallars on a new one?

There are different heat exchangers available. Go with a Cupro Nickel if you are using a salt chlorine generator or if you have a tendency to over acid at times. Standard copper heat exchangers are less durable.

Yes you can replace the core but you should check all the other components to be sure the chlorine hasn,t destroyed them.

This heater wont start if the pressure switch is bad or clogged. Remove the pressure switch and clean it out really well, or just purchase a new one. It should only be $30-$50 depending on where you go to get it
