I hava a Sharp UX465-L machine. When I'm trying to get a fax it tells me to insert paper & press start. There is paper in it & I do press start. Nothing happens. The fax is in ther memory. I just can't get it to print. What am I doing wrong?
The machine might not sensing the paper that is being loaded, this might be due to the paper actuator is not functioning properly.please check the actuator if it is being actuated by the paper and it is returning once the paper is removed. if not please a technical person to rectify it.

Hello, my name is Curtis, and I am a Customer Service Rep. for Sharp Electronics. If you cannot receive faxes from multiple machines than you might want to check to make sure you machine is first set to fax mode, also check to make sure than the phone service for the machine is analog and not digital. The machine will not work well with digital service. You could attemp a work area reset on the machine, the procedure for doing so is to First take out all the paper, Second unplug the main power cord, not the phone line. And Last after about 30 seconds to press and hold down the start and stop keys while plugging the machine back in. Once it turns back on you can replace the paper. If there is still a problem please contact Sharp at 1-800-237-4277.
Turn your fax off then back on. If the problem persist try a memory clear. Press function 9 * 8 # 7 then press start , then keep pressing your # key until you see memory clear then press start. You will lose #'s that are stored. If the problem still persist try another phone line(analog line). This problem will not be in your owners manual, but if you still need one I would do a google search.

The screen on your fax machine displays how the machine is set to receive calls. TEL MODE means the machine will not auto-answer incomming calls and will operate as a normal telephone device, it will still however be able to send a fax in this setting.
Place your message on the original tray and pick up the handset, dial the number and when the distant machine answers press the start key or ask for their fax machine and when you hear the high pitched fax tone press start.
There is a button on the panel that will allow you to change the reception mode of your machine to the other settings.
Your machine is of a model that doesn't come into this country so I have no manuals to forward you. You can try however to access the SHARP web site www.sharp.ae

From manual: Insert document; press Scan & Fax button; dial number; press Start/Copy. All pages will be scanned, number will be dialed, and scan will be transmitted. If Memory Full displays, repeat procedure without using Scan & Fax button.
Set the fax machine to AUTO reception. Next, you
would want to set the proper settings in your Option Set List. To print
a list press the FUNCTION key, the number 2 key, then press the # key
until it reads OPTION SET LIST in the LCD screen and press the START
key. This will print your list. The following settings should be seen:
Number of Rings 1 to 4 rings (setting #2) Dial Mode- TONE (setting #8)
TAD Connected- OFF (setting #9) * Quiet Detect Time- 04 seconds
(setting #10) * Distinctive Ringing- OFF (setting #12) **

Switch off the fax. press the stop key and power up the fax again, keep pressing stop button. memory clear will appear. press start and the memory will clear.
