3250hd

How have you connected the audio cables to the TV? The 3250HD has component, DVI, and composite video out. There is also two analog audio outputs (for the component and composite video) and a digital audio output. Make sure that you are using a TV and not a monitor. Many monitors do not have built-in speakers. (In that case, use external speakers.)

If you use the digital audio output, make sure that your audio receiver audio input is connected to the set top box audio out. Then make sure to set the correct source for that audio signal. (Note the TV may have a digital audio port; that is an audio out.)

If you are using one of the analog audio outputs directly to the TV, make sure that you are using the correct set of audio IN on the TV and audio out on the set top box. (If you are on the Component input, your audio won't be heard if you are using the Composite audio output.)

Next try different audio cables. Make sure that the TV speakers are on. (Some TVs have an option to disable the speakers if you use external speakers at times.) Try connecting the audio output to a receiver and speaker system (or speakers with aux in). You might need an RCA F/F to 3.5 mm M adapter for some devices. If another set of speakers do not work, then the set-top box probably has a broken audio output. If another set of speakers work, then the problem is with the TV audio. This could be a problem with the jack or the speakers.

I hope this helps.

I want to buy HDMI extender to connect my TV from the computer. Can I convert HDMI to VGA? Is there any online store where I can buy it? Your suggestions will be really appreciated.

Converting hdmi to vga is not an issue you can easily get such devices online.
KVMSwitchTech is a one stop shop to buy all such products especially when it comes to hdmi extenders.
You can find some nice deals on hdmi extender units from them.

The scrren either says resolution is not supported (mode 1) or the screen wiggles and shakes (mode 2). A directly connected pc works fine. I am sending to a tv with pc input as the remote display

The QVS VBC5 video extender supports a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 @ 60Hz for up to 50meters (164feet) & 1024x768 @ 60Hz for up to 100meters (330feet).

Make sure your maximum distance of Category 5 cable from your source to your television is no longer than 330 feet if using a 1024x768 resolution. Try dropping the resolution on your source computer in Mode 2 to resolve the issue.

What is the difference between a VDA Conector and HDMI connector? My computer came with both but to use the HDMI I will need an adapter

I think you’re meaning VGA not vda. VGA is a standard monitor connection that has been around forever, it has been on PC's since they were first around. pretty much all monitor will have one or more. Some TV's will have one and many projectors. HDMI is a much newer connection designed for TV's and High definition picture; they are common on satellite and cable TV boxes, DVD and Blu-Ray players, and many game consoles.

I have wired cat5 outlets all over my house. What do I need to send audio off of my PC throughout the house?

You can "pipe' music through your computer via Windows Media Player. You will need a computer where ever you want to send the music to. For example, your music is located on a hard disk in the Den and you want music in the Rec room. Put a computer in the Rec room, open WMP on that computer and load the files across your network.

If you want to get real fancy, connect your stereo amp to the out put of your sound device and play your speakers through the stereo using the computer as the aux source. (plug the mini phone jack from the stereo into the stereo headphone outlet where ever it may be on your computer)

How do i connect my pc to my tv monitor

We must consider many things in order to connect your computer to television, these are the list:

1. Your computer should have a video out port, this port can be found built in to your motherboard and to your video card.

2. If your TV has a VGA input.

When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode thne go to control panel and display property then change screen resolution to 1024*768 then check. But if you are not able to safe mode and other menu when you press F8 then follow below steps.1 by 1 and check.
First open cpu cabinet then pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes.
Refix RAM memory.
Reattch ATX power connector to motherbord.
Reattch power cable and SATA or ide cable to harddisk.
Clean dust from all parts of motherbord.
Open processor fan and processor.
Then reattach both.
Make sure motherbord is not ground with cabinet.

I need to delay data input through a RJ11 to serial input on start up of computer. Any Ideas? The data is a continious feed of weather data from my Peet Brothers weather station that goes to the internet....

If you have electronic knowledge you can construct a delay switch using a 555 timer IC to control a relay that connects the data line after a short time delay to the computer after the computer boots up.

Regarding my laptop connection

you shouldn't need to, though I've run into one or two laptops that only like the s-video if you get that hooked up before you turn the machine on. I don't know if that's universal, it could be as simple as using the Function key and selecting which video output to use. It will usually default to it's own screen. Hope this helps, let me know how it turns out!

Which cable should I use to connect my pc to the HD Viera LCD TV?

If you have HMDI on your video card, definitely use that. That will port over the video in HD and the sound. Otherwise, you can use VGA if you video card supports it. Lastly, you can use S-Video which most video cards have. That will only port over the video though so you will need to have speakers on the computer.
