Kensington 33403 power adapter beeping and providing no power

Hi there,

I have been using a Kensington k33403 power adapter for my laptop for the past few months, howeer today the power block started beeping and no power was being supplied to the laptop... I have not done anything differant to normal, and cant see why it would have a problem. Any help would be gratefully received!

I have the same problem, but I noticed when plug out the power cord from thebrick which links to laptop, it stopped beeping. So maybe the power cord is broken?

I have the same model. I pinched the cord from the from the supply to the notebook. The cord looked ok from the outside, but was damaged internally. I called Kensington support and they sent out a referb unit at no cost using only the serial number to validate the date of manufacture. The company has a two year replacement policy from purchase date, but if you lose your receipt they came go by maufacture date. give them a call.

I had this problem with a Kensington power adapter and the problem resolved itself by simply untangling the leads.
The DC output from the power block was all tied up in knots with the mains lead, so I assume excessive EM interference from the mains lead was causing excessive noise on the clean DC output, so the beeping while the DC output shuts-down must surely be to protect our output from a potentially hazardous noisy/transitory DC power supply.

Save yourself a lot of time and grief by going to Radio Shack and getting a connector adapter. They have an "octopus" that will match what you need and then just be careful to observe polarity when you attach it. Steve Medley

I have a 90w ac/dc power adapter w/usb K33403. It has worked fine and someone tripped over the cord and the power adapter now makes a beeping sound whether it is plugged into the computer or not.

replace the adapter. They are relatively cheap and your problem is solved. Just do a search on Google and you'll find plenty of them available.
