UNABLE TO USE #88 INK FOR MY EPSON STYLUS PRINTER.

HELLO, I HAVE AN EPSON CX7450, & I PURCHASED INK # 88 CARTRIGES, WHICH STATES THAT IT'S COMPATIBLE WITH MY PRINTER, YET IT IS NOT PRINTING. I HAD BEEN USING #69. I'VE TAKEN IT OUT & REPLACED IT SEVERAL TIMES. CAN YOU HELP?

I don't know where you got your #88 cartridges from or who told you that they were compatible with your printer, but they were wrong.

The CX7450 will only work with the #69 type cartridges.

The cartridges themselves may look similar but the chip programming will be different for each.

Hope that helps.

Actually you are wrong thew printer manual and the sticker inside the printer as well as the info on the OEM box for Epson 88 cartridges all clearly state that the 88 series will work. And they do, but they are low yield so there is no real reason to use them.

The Epson Stylus 88 Ink Cartridges

Ink usage is directly proportional to the busyness of the document to be printer.

A document that uses 5% of the page (a standard business letter) will use significantly less ink that a page that uses on 60% and has images within it.

My Epson cx7450 ran out of ink a while ago. I

Did you remove the cartridges when it went out of ink? If so, the printer head is clogged. Anyway, If you didn't remove the cartridges and the "a while ago" means "Long time ago", is more likely the printer head is clogged. You may need to run the "cleaning printer head" feature from the printer or replace the printer head.

Inkjet printers should be used frequently to avoid this issue.

Incompatible cartridges

cartridges maybe bad. Take the cartridges out then put them back into the printer. Turn the printer on and off. you can also get the ink pad reset utility from epson.com if that does not work.
