Re: c43 stylus does'nt print
What rotorcrafts omits to say, is that this has occurred because the waste ink protection counter was warning you that your waste ink pads are saturated with ink and should be replaced. If you don't do this, eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer.
If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help. It is a pretty simple job once someone explains how to get the case apart!
Now select the appropriate printer model in the configurations tab.Now close this window and a small printer icon will appear in the taskbar.Right click on it and go to Protection counter and select "Clear counter overflow".
just do this and you printer will work fine again.

If the light are flashing, it mean waste ink full. You must clean waste ink pad, and reset the counter. You can use SSC, find at indoreset.blogspot.com. But,.. you said the light are on. try to resinstall driver. after printer recognised by comp, check status monitor. Green light on is power on, and red on mean chip error/ink out error/cartridge error.
If problem persists after downloading software, then that means that ink had clogged the printheads after drying up on old installed cartridges. In that case either order a new printhead from Epson, or replace the printer.
If pads need to be replaced, better get a new printer instead since if you are going to wash pads there is no guarantee that printer will work. get a new one, call epson at 562-276-1300. you can get a better deal from them.
If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from
and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C43 Service Manual". You will often find them for sale very cheaply on E-Bay. Note, however, if you can find or borrow any of the C40,42,44 etc service manuals, as far as ink pad replacement goes, they are the same.
If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help.
Let's Try first if it can print without using your computer just to check if printer is working fine by itself.
step1 Make sure its not connected to the computer and there is paper loaded on the printer. Turn off printer, press and hold paper button (middle button) then press and release the power button (right button). If you can see a flashing green light release your hold on the paper button.
If it prints by itself good go to step 2 if not check what lights do you see. Solid red light on ink light (tear drop button) means one or more inks is empty. Epson printer will not print if one or more ink is empty.
step2 Check if computer can detect printer goto start/control panel/systems/ click on hardware tab and click on device manager On device manager click on Universal Serial Bus controllers press on the "+" sign check if there is USB printing support on it Check if there is a mark (ie. ?, !, red x mark). If none good there is no conflicts. If there is a mark right click on USB printing support and click on update driver and install recommended
