Question about Computers & Internet
SAM*TRON 73V N; Model code: GS17VTSS/EDC; Color Disply Unit Type N.: GH17LS; S/N: GS17H9NY700180T; made in Dongguan, China (XINF); July 2005
When monitor got lost contact with computer, also monitor control panel stop working. The screen disappears and small moving window inform: 'the settings are not optimal, try 1280x1024x60'. This is not the truth. After change of actual settings from 1024x768x60 to 1280x1024x60 the same problem exists.
Monitor looses contact with the 3 different computers in exactly the same way. All computers are working properly with another good monitor.
First of FixYa expert, several weeks ago, did advice that in a cheap Novatek, pins 5 and 6 have to be bridged with 50 ohm resistor.
This operation could not be done because there are not any Novatek cheap inside SAM*TRON 73v N monitor. Instead, following cheaps are there, on the small video plate:
Second of FixYa expert did advice to take away video card and put it back properly.
When FixYa experts send their advices, the SAM*TRON 73v N monitor was in the workshop, so I was unable to check myself. *** from the workshop said to me that both advices did not help. This reply was send to FixYa. I am having the broken monitor at home now and I am about to put it to garbage.
This problem is caused by the Novatek chip on the video board. Soldering a 50 Ohm Resistor across pins 5 and 6 of this chip resolves the problem on both the Samtron and the Samsung monitors. I have just corrected one of these last night by this means.
Hope that helps
