Hello. Thats the problem now. I did not take the backup of the original BIOS..I just flashed it with a BIOS which is not compiatible with my system. My system is not showing any other thing. except the power light is glowing and thats it. No display on the screen, in fact the power button is also not working. If I plug in the power cord into the power supply the CPU starts up by itself and to power it off you need to pull out the power plug.

Okay, sounds like your BIOS upgrade went south. First off, re-install the original BIOS. Usually you back up the original before upgrading. Either that, or d/l the original BIOS from emachines.com. Once you've got the BIOS working, try starting the system. I'll need to know more to help you from there.

Wow. Okay then, you need to go to emachines.com and download the BIOS - search for downloads using your model number there, so any BIOS will be compatible with your system. Be sure it's for the model of emachine you own. Now, not backing up, let alone flashing the BIOS with the wrong upgrade, got you as close as you can get to turning that system into a boat anchor. Get the correct BIOS, and install it - that is your first goal, okay? Let me know what model your emachine is, too, so I can verify you d/l-ed the correct BIOS. You can do this, just gotta do a step at a time.

My keyboard works fine in BIOS but at login screen keyboard and mouse don't work. I tried SAFE MODE, same thing. Default BIOS same thing. PS2 or USB don't work but both work in BIOS. HELP

Hello,

You may need to update/reinstall the drivers for your keyboard/mouse. If you able to get online, that would be faster. If not, use a) your restore disk, b) Press update drives in the Control Panel>Keyboard/Mouse.

Good Luck

E-Machines etower 533id PC Desktop NEED BIOS UPDATE

You only need to update bios settings if and when you get severe problems. The bios supplied with any computer is good for life of pc. normally.
But if you wish to update, visit the manufacturers site and download the bios flash utility.(that is the pc manufacturer not the bios manufacturer)

After etower shut down for some time it wil not start

It is possible that the power supply could be dead, I've seen this many times when people move their computers around.
